Been coming here for years for movies, almost every week. The change in ownership has been VERY visible. If you go there on weekends or Tuesdays you will be waiting in line for 30 minutes for a drink and pop corn (only 1 pop corn machine is working), was never like that with Paragon. I will say they recently changed it to a single line format which seems to actually help. I usually stick with pop corn because everything else either isn’t available or is a long wait (it was like this with Paragon also). The past couple times I’ve gone the soda has been super flat, I mean zero carbonation.
Half the time there is no one at the stand checking tickets and the ones that have been there aren’t friendly and seem half asleep. Twice since the ownership change I’ve seen people come in just looking for an empty seat that obviously didn’t pay, once the guy was sitting my seat that I bought, never saw this with paragon.
One of the big reasons i go there is because the seats are the best around (quite a few are broken now and don’t seem to be getting fixed) and because the price is very fair, however they recently raised the prices which I wouldn’t mind so much if they were fixing the place up.
Another problem that has been going on even when it was paragon is movies not starting on time or even at all and you have to go find someone and tell them the movie isn’t playing and eventually they get to it and when they do it starts over from the beginning of the previews so now your watching the previews for 20 minutes AGAIN.. very frustrating.
Everything above is very annoying but not enough to turn me away. However there has been one big problem that I don’t remember ever being an issue with paragon. THE AIR CONDITIONING. Three times now over the past month I’ve bought my tickets online, got into the theater and it was HOT. I’m not talking a little warm, I mean HOT and very humid like no AC at all. All 3 times it’s been 3 different screens, I don’t remember which one the first time but the last 2 times it was screen 1 and screen 4. The manager was immediately willing to offer a refund or exchange which I did the last time with screen 4. The time in screen 1 it was so hot that me and my son were covered in sweat by the time the movie was over, it was miserable. If you have no AC in one of the theaters then don’t sell tickets for that one or move it to another screen !! I live an hour away and it’s gotten to be a guessing game if it’s going to be above or below 80 degrees in the theater when we get there. It’s unacceptable to sell someone movie tickets, especially for the higher price in screen 1 for AXIS and not even tell them it’s 90 degrees in it.
I’ve never thought about not coming here anymore until now, I’m hoping they will get their crap straight soon but it doesn’t seem like it. Long review but I spend a lot of time and money here and it’s sad to see it going down hill so badly.
One other note, the concessions staff is very over worked, understaffed and I’m going to guess underpaid however most of them are very friendly and try really hard to keep up, they deserve to be recognized for it. There has been one employee in particular, younger girl, pretty tall and thin and she is probably the nicest and fastest person I’ve ever seen working there. My son and I both mentioned it a couple weeks ago. She should be a manager if she isn’t already, I bet she would straighten out some of...
Read moreIt's not worth it. Paid all this extra money ($131.29 to be exact) for tickets in advanced, comfortable seats, food order taken at our seat, and a stress free night out with the wife.
Well, no wonder there were so many seats open when I ordered them online.
First, "seat-side food and beverage service throughout the movie" for the LUX seats upstairs is not what you get. You scan a QR code, and the app/website is garbage.
Second, "Sorry, we don't carry what you ordered. It shouldn't be on the menu!"
Third, I ordered a BUFFALO chicken wrap. Which insinuates some type of spice. (I ordered a beer, and my wife ordered a beer 30 minutes prior to the movie starting) we never received or were offered a drink the whole 2 1/2 hours we were there. I inquired about the 2 beers that were ordered after 30 minutes into the movie. Was told they would check on it. Never saw anyone ever come back into the theater with even a water for us.
Fourth, after the movie, I asked about my 2 beers again. "Oh, we can refund those for you if you would like?". Ummmm, yes, please, I never got them. I asked why I didn't get them. She said, "I am not sure. We had 3 bartenders." That's it? That's all you have to say? No, I'm sorry. No, my bad. Nothing? "We will refund the 2 beers. You don't have to do anything." I almost walked away. I'm glad I didn't.
Fifth, "When will I get my refund?" Lady over the radio......"We can't find the order. Are you sure his order number is correct? What is his order #?. We don't see it." Wait....I almost walked away. Haha, the attendant upstairs then says, "Can you leave us your name, email, phone number so we can find it?" Wait, what??? The order found my bank account.......but you can't find the order???
Sixth, I went downstairs to the customer service desk. No one even there. Asked the downstairs ticket attendant to speak to a manager. She walked me over to the guy scooping popcorn. I am assuming the concession manager? I wanted to speak to someone who could actually help me. Either way, he was able to find my order after several minutes and said he would refund the 2 beers.
Seventh, I asked to have my tip back, which is obviously mandatory to enter before you receive service. He told me he couldn't refund the tip. It's a tip......yes you can.
Eighth, the popcorn stand manager said they were going to be letting someone go, obviously. I was confused because I just wanted my money back and not sure who was getting let go. I said, "Don't worry about it, I'm sure I will get ahold of someone by phone or email."
No luck yet, I'll keep waiting for a location manager, regional manager, or owner to call me back. My info was left on the back of a yellow sticky note that the first ticket attendant upstairs found on the...
Read moreThis place has gone way down hill. When it was splitsville it was a high end place with high end food, especially for a bowling alley. The staff was attentive and would come to your lane, take your order, check on you…. All the things that should happen. Last night was the absolute worst. The lanes are decent and bowling is what you make of it but…. The food was sub par but I guess I would say serviceable. For example the chicken and portobello tacos were on tortillas that were cold and stale. The chicken tenders were quite gigantic but very greasy. We ordered from the website (since there was no waiter/waitress) and the food came out decently quick, however no drinks. The runner just dropped the food off and walked away. No silverware, no napkins, didn’t ask if we needed anything else…and just walked off to talk to other staff members.
So besides the less than sub par food, I think the worst thing was the service. Bartenders standing around vaping and chatting behind the bar, and the manager had to point out that I was standing there waiting to speak to someone.
So we had ordered the food, some beers and wine and 7 waters for us and the kids. As I said the food came out quick but no drinks. I had to go and ask for our drinks. The bartender didn’t get the ticket through the system so they hadn’t started making them or putting them together. They didn’t even know what we ordered. It was utter confusion. After they got the ticket the wine and beer finally arrived I had to go back to the bar and ask for our waters. They said they would bring them right over. 10 minutes later I had to grab another person and ask for our waters. The guy brought glasses of waters over and then followed up with the 7 bottles we ordered, but since he’s already brought glasses, he promptly took them back. Like… what?? So a little while later I asked for refills on the water and after another good 10 minutes, I was brought a pitcher of water and then a “here you go, no charge”.
So disappointing. I’d probably give this zero stars if I could. When you go somewhere and spend a pretty significant amount of money with a solid 2 hours of bowling, I think you expect something better, and the experience matches the price. You would be better off going to AMF for a traditional bowling, beer, and pizza by the slice. At least there your...
