Love the ice cream, sub par customer service. We have been coming here for a while. Until my family and i finished dinner late at mosaic around 9:40 PM. We are vegan so we figured a nice place for dessert would be Jenny’s instead of the restaurant. My sister raced ahead of us there to get us some before they closed. She got to the door exactly at 10 and there were still people eating inside, and in line when she got in. As she entered, she was scolded by the gentlemen. No ma’am we’re closed! He yelled, She’s explained “ but it’s ten exactly? Can you make an exception?”

No! We are closed! Please leave!

The only reason it isn’t a one star is because their ice cream is great. But coming from a bartender and industry folk, trying to leave exactly at 10 isn’t always an option if you want to be successful and HOSPITABLE. Listen dude we ran across town because y’all covered the step of great ingredients. Now try a splash of patience and understanding and you would have made a family of 4 very happy on this Friday night. Not to mention a few extra bucks.

Here’s a tip for the owners: How about analyzing what hours your most successful operating in? Maybe try adjusting hours if you can to 10:30? You’d be surprised what you can make in 30 mins when there’s a line as your trying to close. Closing procedure is as important as opening.

I showed up at the jenis ice cream scoop shop at the Boro in Tysons Corner Virginia at 9:04 PM on August 18th, to pick up my complementary birthday ice cream. Despite Google and a chalkboard outside of the ice cream shop showing that the shop is open until 10 PM a worker came outside say that due to the fact they are shortstaffed they will be closing at 9 PM, there was a line in the store and we Explained the situation that we were longtime he is fans coming just to redeem the birthday Scoop. The worker advised us to just come back another day.

However I would like to note that this is the second time I’ve showed up to the Tysons Jenis location where the hours advertised and stated at the store front have not been accurately depicted. I have never had this problem at any other jenis locations to include the old town Alexandria one.

Super disappointed and what was anticipated to be a sweet ending to the perfect birthday evening turned out to be a disappointment from a brand that I have loved for years.

As someone who has also worked in short staffed food service. I would have never turned away someone on their birthday, especially while there was still a line in the store and the advertised hours clearly show...
