Joe's Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

Oh my! I was super skeptical about trying this place, but it was 8:15 on a Sunday on DoorDash. I really, really wanted a calzone. Paisanos has really gone downhill, Joe's Place was already closed, and the other few places like Brooklyn Pizza, LR Pizzaria, and Presto are definitely not worth the money. Joe's was the only option, and had mixed reviews. I usually grab a couple of things, and eat off of the food for a few days. I played it safe and stuck with the calzone and a sauce to meet the minimum dollar amount. For the same price as a horrific BTS meal, I received a gigantic, packed to the max calzone. I asked for no ham and extra cheese in the comments. This was definitely taken into account. My motto is you can never have enough cheese, and they definitely feel the same way. Most calzones have those huge ends with nothing in them, but this calzone was stuffed to all edges. It was perfectly crisp, without being burnt. I also received 3 sauces which came in handy for such a huge calzone. It was very tasty marinara sauce with a hint of sweetness. I was expecting a passable calzone due to limited options, but got a massive taste of deliciousness. This could easily be 3 meals and was only $12. Let me start by saying I order a pizza from here almost every week...Normally it's very good.

This past Friday, 6/27, I ordered an XL pizza with pepperoni, ground beef, and mushrooms for delivery. After receiving the pizza me and 2 other people take a slice and started to eat it and then realized that ham was added instead of mushrooms. I Called Joe's Pizza to let them know the issue. I was asked if I had ate any of the pizza and I stated me and 2 other people had gotten a slice. After being told that there wasn't an XL pizza made with ham, as if I didn't know what I had eaten, I was told there was nothing they could do because we had already started eating the pizza. She then proceeded to tell me if I hadn't eaten any of it they would remake the pizza for me... ....Was the delivery driver going to pick up an already delivered pizza to be redelivered to someone else?? or to take back to Joe's to eat?? Either way it seems unsanitary. I stated it was over half left, but she said it had to be whole. Then I proceeded to ask for store credit but was told they don't do credit ... So I was stuck with a pizza not only with the wrong toppings, but that was overcooked because the crust was hard.

Needless to say the pizza is good if they get it right, BUT customer...

I ordered online. Their Web site indicates that you get two pizzas for the price of one. When I placed my order for the first pizza, I got no indication that I would get a free one. I placed my order then called the store. The lady on the phone said that they no longer have that special, and that they have no control over their Web site right now. It's been 50 minutes since I placed my order, and the pizza has not arrived yet. I called the store again and she said that they were a little busy tonight and that the pizza was fresh and on its way. 15 minutes later...not here yet. I'm typing this during my experience. This had better be good pizza and wings. Ok, the order showed up in one hour and 10 minutes. The food was pretty damn good. The pizza was fresh and tasty. The wings were much better than BWW or Wing Stop. I would have given this a 5, but the time for delivery and stating on their Web site that you get 2 for 1 on pizza, I can...
