Ordinarily I love Red Robin! But this particular restaurant left way too much to be desired.
We asked to be seated outside in the shade and that was fine. Or at least we thought it was until throughout our stay we wound up being ignored an awful lot.
My order was very simple... A bowl of New England clam chowder and a side Caesar salad. While the soup was flavorful, and had a fair amount of clam meat in it, it was very thin rather than a nice, thick soup that it should be. So I would say the soup was mediocre. Now we come to the salad. The first bowl she served to me was old, limp, brown greens that I don't believe I would have served to a rabbit! The dressing ordinarily is mixed with the greens, however, my dressing was in a cup sitting in the bowl. I did not order my dressing on the side. When she finally did come back to check on us the first time after serving us, I pointed out how distasteful the salad was and asked if she could do better. I also asked if they would mix the dressing with the greens and then put it in a bowl to bring to me. My lunch partner also asked for more fries.
The next bowl she brought me had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and the greens were dismally better than the first bowl was. Once again, we sat there waiting much longer than we should have for her to return. Needless to say, my food was not enjoyable at all. When are drinks were ready to be refilled I had to get up, and go inside to look for her. I decided instead to ask for the manager. At least she came to our table within a reasonable amount of time. I told the manager everything that it happened and of course she was very apologetic and asked if there was anything she could do to make it up to us so I suggested perhaps desert would be on them. She happily agreed to that and we enjoyed a wonderful dessert the mud pie I believe it was. Unfortunately, she apparently neglected to tell our waitress and I didn't discover until after we'd already left that we paid for that dessert. So, will I go back to this particular...
Read moreThis location used to be good years ago. But, it seems at some point, they just kinda gave up. Occasionally they are on point. More often than not, the service is lacking. Our most recent visit on Wednesday evening found us seated in the farthest corner of the restaurant. It seemed all the patrons were scattered about as if there was only one table per waitstaff. There was one other large table seating within eye sight and we could see the waiter tending to them. It took about 10 minutes before anyone approached us and only after my husband got up to use the restroom. He seemed to be new as he was really unsure how to ask for our order. I placed our drink order, appetizer, and meal order and he wandered off. After about 15 minutes, we started to wonder if our appetizer would come out or if was going to be delivered at the same time as our burgers. Just then, the bartender, who was very friendly, delivered our burgers. We let him know the mozzarella sticks never arrived and we had no idea where our waiter went. He apologized, said he'd find the waiter, and asked if we needed anything else. We asked for more fries (which we do every time we go and it seems then never want to deliver them) and then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes or so. By this time, we finished out drinks and burgers when the fry refill arrived. Another waiter informed us that our previous waiter had left for the day but no one told him. He tried to take over but really at this point, our meal was done and we just wanted to leave. Every Red Robin we've been to has been busy, this one always seems like it's on the verge of going out of business which will be inevitable if they continue to have little to no regard for their patron's happiness. Food is ok, fries can be good if they're not sitting...
Read moreMyself and my son waited 20 minutes for a table. Walked in to the seating area with at least 5 tables in one small section uncleaned. They provided one adult menu and no kids menu. Another person sat down after us got helped first. When the waitress came over, we ordered drinks and food. I asked for fries because we had now been waited nearly 30 minutes.
Fries came, cold and soaked in grease. My son usually eats a basket of fries before his meal. I sent them back with another waitress and asked they be replaced. Our food came at about the same time and she asked if I still wanted the extra basket. I said yes. Our food arrived before our drinks (water and pineapple juice). The fries with the food were just as cold and greasy. I had broccoli and it was so terribly over cooked. When I sent that back with the waitress, I didn’t order any thing else. They didn’t seem to care the food was unacceptable. They also didn’t send over a manager to assist with the problems. After that everyone was MIA. Never came back for refills. We had three whole napkins for the meal. The lady seated next to us offered some of hers.
After waiting a long time, our original waitress came back and I asked for the manager who seemed unbothered but my complaints. Food was cold and greasy, over cooked to the point I didn’t eat it. She did comp my sons meal and the entertainment fee. Never came back to the table to tell me the bill was ready. Waited another 10 minutes.
I called corporate to handle. I do feel like they heard my issues. I hope the honest review leads to a review of their waitresses and manager. There is a reason your restaurant was not busy on a Sunday afternoon and the other reviews make it obvious. Staff attitude and management need to be retrained...
