Wow, I'm blown away!! I overheard some people talking about the cheese bread and chef salad at Vitales. I had a pizza before and wasn't the most impressed, but I was willing to give them another try. Craving a salad tonight I decided to order and I'm so glad I did!
The large chef salad is huge and packed! Tons of meat and cheese, literally a whole hard-boiled egg, four slices of tomato, multiple slices of cucumbers, etc. There were also 2 large cups of ranch and the ranch was just as amazing! This quite possibly the best chef salad I've had in over 20 years. It really took me back! It's so big I can easily get 2 meals from it. I added a pic under the photos so be sure to check it out. The price was even quite affordable. The only thing I could possibly think would make this better was if they cooked their own bacon, but the bacon bits on the salad were all real and great quality. None of the cheap stuff or artificial bacon bits.
I also ordered the cheese bread to have a little something extra with the salad. I was thinking it was going to be cheesy bread sticks maybe, or one of those oval shaped breads covered in cheese. This is actually much bigger and about the size of medium pizza. There is plenty of cheese on it and the olive oil and garlic really put this cheese bread on another level. The crust tastes like pizza crust and the flavor is incredible. I had a large cup of marinara and it is also really good.
Everything was exceptional, including the temperature, time, and service. And it may sound odd but the utensils included were also great quality, very durable. I could easily cut up the veggies and meats without concern the utensils would snap. I will most certainly be regularly visting Vitales and ordering this same meal. It's so good I don't know how I could go and not get the same thing. I'm telling everyone I know. Run, don't walk and you can thank me later!
Update: I tried the mozzarella sticks tonight and they were so good! The photos of them online don't do them justice. They are longer and thicker than they look and also solid cheese throughout unlike many others you get that are half hollow inside. They are about the length of a bun-length hotdog but...
Read moreSince leaving my last review I decided to try something new so we ordered the Tuscan Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Fried Mozzarella, Stuffed Shells, Pizza and Zeppoli & Gelato and a pizza. The chicken was so dry it literally scratched my mouth and throat. Nothing was "wrapped" there was just a bunch of tomato's and dry chicken on top of wilted lettuce leaves. The stuffed shells were overcooked and pasty and the cheese filling was a runny tasteless mess. The pizza was lukewarm and dry, it had very little sauce and the dough itself seriously lacked flavor. The Zeppoli's were hard, like they had been sitting for awhile or microwaved and the Gelato came prepackaged and was half melted because they put it in the same bag as the other food. It seems with this place the food is hit or miss. The only thing that we ate was the Mozzarella sticks and they were pretty good. To spend $55 on food you have to throw away is shameful and I won't be doing it again!
I stand corrected and wanted to make a post to say that Vitale's Pizza Kitchen absolutely redeemed themselves tonight! I had the pleasure of meeting Julie Vitale tonight and she was gracious enough to remake my order from last week. I didn’t know it was their first week and they had an oven down before giving my review. So I was pleased that Julie reached out to me and offered a redo. I can’t say enough good things about the pizzas we got tonight. The crust was perfect, crispy and still remarkably soft on the edges. The sauce was delicious with just the right amount of seasoning and was spread all the way to the top. The cheese covered the entire pizza and had remarkable stretch, flavor and consistency. The desserts are amazing and I’ll even admit, better than mine! We definitely have a new favorite pizza place and I can’t wait to try their pasta dishes and Luli’s cheese bread, my daughter is especially excited about trying their homemade cheese sticks. We will be seeing you Friday Julie and thank you so very much for the wonderful pizza and...
Read moreI plan our dinners out every week and we have the rule that if one of us had a bad day we can call a mulligan, meaning we can veto what’s on the menu and order take out. Tonight was one of those nights! I got news today that could possibly be life changing and not positively and my husband went and picked up our cats ashes that we had to out down last week. I called a mulligan but had no idea what we wanted…….I have been wanting to try Vitale’s for a while but never think about it. When I googled “good near near me” Vitale’s was in the list and that’s what we went with! I ordered the kids Alfredo, which was enough for two people, my husband ordered the Nonna’s lasagna and our son ordered the hot Italian sandwich of course we HAD to add an order of cheese bread. My Alfredo was really good, it could’ve used more garlic, the lasagna was good but a bit salty, the sandwich was a little dry but he added more vinegar and it was perfect. The cheese bread and ranch…………OH MY SWEET LORD it was delicious!!!!! The ranch tasted just like the ranch from another local pizza place that went out of business years ago! The delivery was quick and they kept me updated with the status of the order each step of the way. I am sorry that it took this long to try it out and even sorry that we had a crap day that called for a mulligan but we WILL return, but will probably try something different next time but of course still get the cheese...
