The Alpine Chipotle is… not great. Sure, the food is good. Because it’s Chipotle’s recipes, duh. But almost every time I order from here I have a bad experience.
Currently, they are only accepting web orders. Okay, no big deal. I order and get an estimated time of about 20 minutes. I ask the manager, “How accurate are these times?” The response: “they’re pretty accurate.” Well, they aren’t. It’s been 40 minutes and the manager estimates at least 10 more. For a burrito.
The frustrating thing to me is that had I known it would take 40 to 50 to 60 minutes for a burrito I would not have ordered. But there’s no way to tell that from the app. And nobody in the store is honest and forthright about the wait times. So now I’m sitting in my van, waiting for a burrito that will not be fresh And it won’t be worth the 45 minutes plus that I waited for it and I’ve already paid for it, so I can’t just cancel it.
Chipotle, people if you are listening: just tell people exactly the situation the store is in. Do not make them guess how long they will wait. If there is going to be a huge wait, have a protocol in place for managers to give people a heads up of what orders they’re working on. This will avoid 20 people standing around, and randomly coming up to the manager every two minutes to ask if their order is done yet. Not to mention if you are this busy the store becomes an absolute trash hole. There is food and trash everywhere. I feel like I am at a waffle house or something. It’s borderline gross how much trash is around the store.
Finally, the employees do not seem to have a sense of urgency at all. They are not talking to each other, communicating their needs. I’m watching a single person make the orders for everyone with no help while one person is weighing bags of chips, and another is cutting avocados.
I just don’t understand why this particular chipotle is so bad. Other stores seem so much more friendly...
Read moreThe service at this chipotle was SO unbelievably bad. Walking in, there was one couple at a table eating, and what appeared to be an employee off the clock in line to order. I was looked over by one of the 6 or 7 working employees as she ordered with another employee, so I waited. I noticed there was another off the clock employee standing behind me in line, and this man proceeded to order and walk in front of me after I had been waiting for someone to come help me. That was #1. Then it seemed fine. I was ordering my food to go and they appeared to be out of lids, however there was an entire stack on another station for takeout orders. They spoke among themselves and opted to put tinfoil wrap over my bowl instead of a lid, so I asked “can I get one of those lids instead” and pointed towards the stack, to which I was rudely told “uh no those are for mobile orders.” I’m not quite sure why I was told no or what makes my order less worthy of a lid than a mobile order - I still was leaving the store and wanted a lid - this was irritating. Then when I went to pay, the woman checking me out was rude and mumbled something and walked away, I stood there waiting while she went to the back of the kitchen (where I could still clearly see her) to talk to her coworkers, meanwhile, I am waiting for a receipt, my chips, and my food is halfway bagged on the edge of the counter - I ended up bagging it myself because they weren’t going to! Ridiculous! The employees of this chipotle were clearly not worried about offering good customer service, were rude when I asked for a lid which I could clearly see on the counter, and seemed like they were there to mess around with their friends like it was a joke, not a job. I love chipotle, but this was the first and worst experience I’ve ever had in store. I have never been so compelled to write...
Read moreThe Alpine Ave Chipotle location is nothing short of a disaster.
Every time I show up they’re always out of something that I want, the kitchen looks like a cross contamination nightmare, it takes an entire store of employees huddled around a register to figure out what’s going on, people are quiet and awkward because we’re all thinking the same thing as we watch a nuclear bomb of chaos detonate before our eyes, the card reader attached to their register doesn’t work, any sign of leadership is completely absent as employees seem to fight for their own survival, and the guy running the grill complaining about just wanting to go home is what we all want to do during our jobs, but that’s not the reality.
$18 for a bowl that took 20 minutes to slide to the end of the counter is just insane. I came here yesterday (Dec 27) and instantly left because the line stretched out the door.
I decided to come back today and the line was almost nonexistent, but I knew there would be problems.
A couple in front of me had problems and it looked like the store gave them coupons that looked like regular printed off pieces of paper with barely legible black and white ink, and they had obvious frustrations.
The next lady in front of me was visually frustrated, and the cashier kept digging around in her bag trying to figure out what he had just put in there because he charged her for something she didn’t even have.
If you go to this location and just sit outside and watch customers walk out, you can literally see their frustrations.
I don’t often leave reviews but Chipotle is good, no wonder why TONS of people want it. That’s no excuse for horrendous customer service.
