I took some of my family to this restraunt father's day and from the beginning it started badly and went even worse. The bus person brought us water asked if we wanted coffee of which 3 of us said yes and one of us asked if they offered flavored creamer(which they do) the bus person brought water and flavored creamer. 20 minutes later our server Ellen arrived and asked if we were ready to order to which i replied" yes we would like our coffee" to which she asked who we ordered from and then stated "it wasn't me". No. Sympathy no apology. At this point i figured it would be more expedient to go ahead and place our order. When the order arrived 2 orders of eggs were done incorrectly and another order was not complete. We were just going eat and let all the issues go. My husband finished and went to pay the bill and when he came back my granddaughter took a bite of her meal and pulled a long dark hair out. This was the last straw. I told Ellen about this and because the bill was already paid no apology or offer of anything. I also told the hostess as i was leaving that this was the worst meal ever and all she could say was " did u tell ur server". My entire family has culinary degrees and also work in customer sevice. This is not some place we will reccommend due to lack of customer service skills and inability to process orders...

I don't understand all the positive reviews. I travel for business and this morning was my first time here and second time ever in Walla Walla. Maybe it was an off day so that's why I was really generous and gave two stars. I ordered the big Walla Walla breakfast and it took 24 minutes. Based on text messages I sent to my wife so this is not an exaggeration. Pancakes were overcooked with a heavy crust, eggs were fine, bacon was thinly sliced (see through) and soggy as if it were sitting in a steamer for hours, it was disgusting, I didn't eat it and the sausage links were the cheapest you could buy, ate half of one of those. When asked how it was when leaving I stated I wasn't thrilled and told them why, the response was simply "uh oh" and excuses were made about a cook on vacation etc. $22 and I still left a 20% tip because it wasn't the fault of the server I suppose, who knows, but I gave her the benefit of doubt. I did order an upgraded Seattle's Best coffee and an orange juice. At that cost for breakfast I expect quality not what I was served and definitely not in that time frame. Honestly, you'd be better off...

The place looks beautiful! I was so excited to eat here because I grew up in walla walla and hadn’t been here since I was a kid. I was very disappointed in the level of service received especially for the price we ended up paying for everything. Our food came out wrong. Our server never checked on us or asked us how everything was. She just dropped off the check and said “I’m taking off, you can pay at the front when you’re ready” we had to go to the host stand to ask for a refill on our coffee and it just felt like they didn’t even care for us. They just wanted our money.

This is the reason people don’t like to tip anymore. This is the problem with the service industry. I’ve worked it for years and cannot believe how hard people make the easiest things like just being present and having a good attitude. We expect to receive actual service. We don’t want to pay for people to just stick their thumb up their rear and ignore us the entire time. This was my first time here in 15 years. I will never be returning again after this.

Tommy’s Dutch lunch is way better. We only came here because they...

We ate at Clarette’s on Sunday, May 16, 2021. The restaurant was packed which was great to see as we continue to make progress against COVID. It was also nice to see that this restaurant is still going strong...when I would visit my grandparents as a youngster we would frequently go to Clarette’s. On Sunday I ordered the French toast dipped in granola and pecans. Loved the uniqueness of the item and it tasted pretty good too. The menu is pricey for breakfast but the food is top notch when it comes to its quality. We went on a Sunday right when church was getting out for most people and we had a group of 10 so we figured it would take some time for us to get our food. With that said, we did think an hour after we ordered was a little long. But we can’t complain that much because of this: My cousin saw a plate delivered to someone at another table that looked good. He asked an employee what it was and she said, “Oh, that is one of our blintzes! Let me bring one to you.” So we got an item completely on the house simply because we inquired about it...awesome. We enjoyed our visit!

If a diner could be Grandma's house... Clarette's, on this snowy day, was "shed your coat and come on in" inviting. Not super busy. The host showed us to our table in the dining room "extension," like a closed in porch. In the main dining room (where the grown-ups gathered)—a patchwork of floral wallpapers and framed pictures create an on-brand cozy feel. Tapestry upholstered seat backs in our booth (like my Nan's couch). Service was slow to kick in. Asked the host, passing by, if she could help us out. This was a bummer and not so welcoming. Benedict. Great hashbrowns—crispy outside, fluffy inside. Poached eggs—cooked whites (thanks, Gran), velvety yolks. Ended up with a drink trio: diner coffee, mimosa(s), water (love the fluted retro glass). Second visit. Will give it another go (love how close it is to The Finch Hotel).

I was looking for a nice sit down restaurant to eat at before leaving town for a 6 hour drive home. I picked Clarettes off google map and am glad I did. I was seated right away and my order was taken soon after. The serve all day breakfast a pleasant surprise. Delilah was my server. A perfect old school waitress. Two thumbs up. I had breakfast as pictured. Everything was cooked exquisitely and to perfection. Clarette's is a rarity in this quick paced world of fast food mentality. I wished there were places like this everywhere. If I make it back to Walla Walla, Clarence will be my go to restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Jim...
