Denny's — Restaurant in Walla Walla

If it wasn't for the absolute joy and privilege of meeting the most personable and helpful waityes I've ever met on God's green Earth by the name of the delightful and wonderful Breann, I was about to write this place off, which is unfortunate, seeing as how it is the only sit down restaurant in our small town of Walla Walla. I was not looking forward to going back to the disgusting excuse for food served at our Jack in the Box. I had numerous negative encounters with a seemingly angry duo of manager(Megan) and snarky, borderline hateful waitress (Faith). I had been avoiding the place after the last time I had overheard Faith demoralizing and speaking down to Breann in a very disturbing tone and what I perceived as racist remarks saying "I don't know how "you people" do things but I was raised right and...etc. I had to remove myself as I was personally offended as a fellow human being. This incident was capped off and nearly sealed the deal for me when I heard Megan the night manager belittling a cook or dishwasher very loudly insulting his genitals. I had yet to pay and gathered my composure when I saw Breann approach the register with the most genuine smile and glow on her face(despite just being demoralized by her manager Faith), which immediately pulled me out of my state of disbelief and discomfort. Because of this display of poise and professionalism I have since frequented this location whenever I see Breann is working the floor. I still, unfortunately, have to resort to climbing back in my car and forcing down a sub-par burger down the street whenever Faith and or...

This is a typical Denny's with one exception. It is new and it is clean. Having gutted the building from its occupancy as Shari's and removed the darkness and grime the new Denny's location is fresh, open and inviting. The server today was Daymien and he was a 10/10 on service, affability and knowledge of menu items and prompt service. A highly valuable asset for the location. The place was busy with a sign in and line, less than 10 minute wait as table top turnover was brisk and efficient and the Menu was Typical Denny's with some new commercial tie ins. Quality was good and quantity to price was very good. Denny's is closing restaurants all over the country. Walla Walla is lucky to have a 24 hour good old fashioned breakfast location again. So be nice and frequent this location so it remains profitable. Overall 4 out of 5!

Update: Returned again a couple of months after their Grand Opening. Two waitresses in attendance. Waited for nearly ten minutes to be seated even when there were only three tables occupied. Waitress showed up to take the order and brought coffee, nearly twenty minutes to service. Never saw her again until she brought the bill. Service is everything in a restaurant. Denny's is living up to it reputation of indifference and lack of manpower. If this place is to survive, they need to up their game and keep it up not just at the big reveal. I am posting this review for my stellar dining experience that I had the pleasure of partaking in at the Denny's in Walla Walla, Washington at 814 West Chestnut Street. Breann was an absolute doll, and she's far and away more capable of superlative customer service than Faith, or any of the other wait staff. She was prompt, friendly, knew the menu inside and out, and was unexplainably understanding concerning what foods a person seemed to really want, in other words, she pracically read my mind(yes, she is that good.) A standing ovation seems necessary to me, because Breann is a one of a kind who genuinely wants to please the customers' she waits on. I can hardly say enough about Breann and her customer service skills...I cannot remember a time in my life when I had a better experience than having Breann wait on me. I am going to tell all my friends to come to Denny's so they can experience the top notch service that Breann offers, and enjoy the wonderful food they serve at Denny's.
