Many of my fondest undergraduate memories are of visiting “The Little House” as young man in his early twenties. Mexican food is amongst my favourite cuisines, and La Casita is perhaps the best Mexican restaurant I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Indeed, it is the benchmark against which I have measured all subsequent Mexican restaurants, and I have yet to find its equal. In my younger days, I often didn’t have two nickels to rub together, yet somehow managed to visit La Casita once a week. (At the time they had $5 entrees!) Their Pico de Gallo salsa, pickled onions and carrots, and sopapillas are easily the best I’ve ever tasted. I still remember their mouth watering “Pollo Ranchero,” “Arroz con Pollo,” and “Pollo en Mole.” Nostalgia’s lenses are invariably rose tinted, but if my recollection is even remotely accurate, I recommend you eat here as often as you can. They keep the floors clean under the tables which is always something that will help inform you of general restaurant cleanliness no matter where you eat. This is one of the most consistent restaurants in town. I wish they offered a Chile Pablano. It has always been my habit to check the restroom cleanliness and havenever been disappointed. There is plenty of free parking in a large paved parking lot off the...
Read moreLove the way the Fihetas are made. I need take home box. The food has always been good. We get there around 2 pm in the day. The place usually is busy to where we had waited to 20 minutes or less. We leave a good tip as we leave. The Ice Tea is made to my taste. They must know I drink tea without sugar. There is a Antique Shop in the other half of building. I can not think of any constructive criticism with this Mexican food and Employees. The Staff will do what they can help to make our visit the best. We travel in Walla Walla to play Golf, then pick out the flavor of a meal we desire. So traveling 38 miles to Walla Walla resteraunts, Golf, Shopping and Movie. 5 stars in...
