Well it finally happened. My favorite fast food taqueria has finally lost my business forever. I've been a longtime repeat customer for 20 years or so, when they took over an old taco-time. It's still looks just like the old taco time inside but they had big giant burritos and were affordable. The food was never close to the quality of the finer Mexican Restaurants in town but made up for it in price and quantity and speed. It's been going downhill, burritos aren't as good or as big and the price keeps going up. It's nearly ten bucks for a sloppy veggie burrito. A more substantial meal is much more than that - on par with what you'd pay at the finer sit down places. And they are stingie. You get 2 small hot sauces and a small pack of stale chips. Ask for anything extra and they will charge you. The final straws were when I went there six months ago I ordered a meal and sat down to wait. The waitress had mopped the floor and was swinging the 'slippery when wet' sign to try and dry the floor but it was kicking up dirt into the salsa bar and everywhere else. I saw my food come up and after asking her to get it for me she actually told me to wait, and continued swinging that mop board - so eventually i got up and got my own food from the counter. I then asked for a fork and she once again told me to wait, and this time i did - but my food was getting cold and I had to ask her a second time for a fork before she did it, albiet begrudgingly. That should have been strike three. So I didn't go back until yesterday and there she was, committing the same health code violation as before swinging that mop board. And when I ordered my food the prices were all higher than posted, they refused to give me an extra hotsauce, and the ten buck burrito was sub-par and flavorless. Again let me reiterate that I have been a longtime loyal customer, and I will not be going back. My money will be spent at the alternative places that have much better ambience, better customer service and better food- for nearly...
Read moreFor me this Mexican restaurant is like a drive thru, they do have that. I believe the breakfast burritos are delicious and if I could, eat the burrito at one sitting, however these burritos are huge. When I pass this place I make a U turn to get that breakfast burrito. The meat, hashbrown, egg, and some tasty onions and off to the Golf Course, Veterans Memorial Golf Course. Golf and breakfast Burrito makes me a winner. This resteraunt has restrooms, snug, I do not know if there is handicapp facilities. The plates of food on their menu is displayed above the counter. Easy way to choose your taste buds are ready for a different plate. The place is usually thin in the early morning, later the parking lot is more than half full and drive up is 4, or 6 cars in line. Price is just right for my wallet. You get hot or mild sauce, cheese, etc. I car pay for my order, to go, and 35 minutes at my table the burrito is still hot, too hot to wolf down. Clean, patience, staff work as a team to make each customer's orders...
Read moreTraveling home from Boise, we wanted to see if Walla Walla had better Mexican food than our home town of Coeur d'Alene. Seeing the other reviews, decided to give it a try. I was pleased with our selection of the "new" menu item, a chipotle burrito. The Smokey flavor of the sauce was subtle but lingered on the tongue, and I could tell somebody was actually in the kitchen creating some authentic comfort food. It had a good amount of onions cooked down into the meat blend, and a scattering of something orange (squares of carrots?). It was a generous sized burrito, on a nice, toasty (maybe home made?) tortilla, I could not eat it all. It was definitely not run of the mill, I am eager to try their other offerings when we go through again. The service (although walk up and order) was very nice. Friendly people, appears to be a family owned, very clean shop. Loved the wood carving on the booths. ...
