*Note, review is based off delivery and not dine in. I highly recommend dine in so these issues can be addressed in store.
I travel a lot for work, and Nick’s is one place I can get a customized, mostly healthy road meal. I have had Chicken Gyro Bowls from no less than five different locations over the past 1.5 years, and never had an issue with any of them. Until tonight.
Issue 1: I paid for extra cucumber and feta. It arrived with LESS cucumber and Feta than what the standard menu item would come with.
Issue 2: Despite my spelling it out (literally) to PLEASE ensure utensils were provided (while also marking the add utensils box) I received, you guessed it, none.
Issue 3: The lettuce was soaking wet. The entire thing was dripping water, so there was next to no flavor whatsoever. Not to mention, I received numerous decrepit, nasty, discolored (old) lettuce leaves.
Issue 4: I know they use thigh/dark meat, but I have never had a bowl with more chicken skin/fat than chicken. Yuck!
Luckily, my delivery service refunded me for this mess. Couldn’t even eat 1/4 of it, it was so gross. Maybe if you dine in you don’t receive the dredges.
What they got right: Added extra Tzatziki as requested, put my sauces on the side, did not send with tomato, onion, or rice as requested. So they are clearly capable of reading the orders. Hence the 2 stars vs 1. Just order delivery at your own risk from...
Read moreNick the Greek is fantastic. The restaurant offers good value, fast service, and always great and satisfying taste.
Don't be fooled by the appearance of the location. It looks like a bland fast food joint that couldn't hold a candle to the neighboring sit-down restaurants from the outside, but it doesn't disappoint. Walnut Creek has several different Greek joints, all of them fancier and more sophisticated-looking than this one, and Nick is my go-to because you get more bang for your buck and the flavors are just plain good. And what's wrong with a casual aesthetic and basic street food-inspired dishes, anyway? It's clean, the food's healthy, and there's seldom any kind of a wait.
Don't hesitate to drop in next time you're walking through downtown Walnut Creek and your stomach...
Read moreLet me start that I know what is good Greek food, born on the Greek border and have been to Greece hundreds of times. This is the best Greek food you can find in Walnut Creek. I was hesitant to try it as this is a chain but I was so impressed. The quality of the food is great, fresh products and meat! The service is exceptional! The girl on the cashier today was fast and knowledgeable and she was so kind to everyone. She even started bringing balloons and stickers to the kids when there was no one on the line, she was smiling and making them happy. When it was time to finish our meal I started cleaning the table and she came and didn’t let me do it. She said no I’ll do it with a big smile! The prices are very reasonable comparing to the restaurants and fast food...
