Pizza My Heart — Restaurant in Walnut Creek

$35 for a 14" pizza, seriously? Outrageous, but not all that surprising since its Walnut Creek, "we suddenly must charge you accordingly, at least for the name Walnut Creek." Picked up the pizza after ordering over the phone. When I checked in at the counter, a salesperson told me it would be another 5 minutes but waited 10. Finally I got the attention of the salesperson to see how much longer and he suddenly remembered my pizza had been sitting on top of the oven waiting for me. When you spend hard earned money for a good pie, you expect some decent service behind it including the salesperson having situational awareness about when the pizza is ready. It seemed to me I was doing his job working hard to get his attention to give me what might have well be considered some sort of "designer pie" I had paid for and was waiting for. Not eating here again unless your prices drop to be competitive with most other pizza shops. Try charging 22.00, more reasonable. This isn't New York or Chicago level pies so not sure where are they getting their price structure from, but no matter where it comes from it feels like this shop feels justified charging people this much . These prices are absurd and if you need to charge this much to stay in business, then maybe think about putting this business to bed. Try to operate and help, not hurt, the public simultaneously. Oh my God this is too funny and unbelievable. I walked in there around 11 ish on a Saturday morning and ordered a plain Slice Pizza to be served crispy. I was told to sit down and wait. I was the only customer in the place. I was able to read my entire newspaper when I realized I haven't had this slice yet. So I got up and went to the counter and the young man said oh I'm sorry I was distracted I forgot about it. Meanwhile another young lady placed yet another slice in the oven and I go back to sitting down. After what appears to be a long waiting time I stood up again and went to the young lady who said I got that.She opens the oven doors places the spatula under the slice and the slice drops to the floor.
