I don't know whether it was the cook or the waitress. H?mm. Let me explain. I ordered the rib-eye dinner. Chose tater tots and corn as my other entries. Plus the salad bar. My choice of drinks, peach flavored sweet tea.
Drinks arrived, yes I was not alone. The first one was fine. The refills were losing their sweetness and their peachiness.
The salad bar was pretty good. No problems there. In fact it was the best part of the meal.
I noticed a possibly a mother and daughter come in at 15 minutes after we put in our orders... yes, I know somethings may take less in getting foods cooked, but somehow their order came up faster than ours, with big platters. My parties food came next. Ribs and shrimp dinner.
Then my rib-eye came. Looking really good. My tater tots were replaced with mashed potatoes, the waitress comments were, I know you ordered the tots but they prepared your order with mashed potatoes. I was asked if you would accept this instead of the tots. But if you wish, I will put your tots request back in again. I requested the tots. ..
I cut into my steak, I started to question the type of steak it was definitely not a ribeye. No marbling in the meat, the density of meat was thick and mushy to me. Then it hit me, this was a sirloin steak instead of a ribeye.
After a while my tots were delivered to me. They were hot and tasty. I did enjoy them. I questioned our waitress about this meat issue, because it was a less expensive cut of meat. I asked if the chef knew the difference between them.
She was again polite but evasive. So not to take up any more time, I figured I would drop the issue.
I finished my meal as much of it I could eat. Because inside me I was fuming. .. I should have refused the whole meal and requested a conference with a manager.
Time came by to see about desserts. I could not chance it again. But I do really like pineapple upside down cake. I chose to skip desserts. We left. My guest really enjoyed their meal and everything they did eat there. But me not so.
So with all this in mind, I gave them a 3.for my rating. Take it or leave it. A 50 /50 chance you will have pleasant dining experience at Ruby Tuesdays.
I would not...
Read moreI will not be visiting this restaurant again. We were in town recently to visit my in-laws and stopped by here for lunch. It was not busy so we were seated right away and the waiter was polite. The problem is they were out of everything we wanted. My husband asked for a certain beer (they were out), asked for a different one (also out) and then after a 3rd time, we asked "What do you have?" so he chose from one of those.
We placed our order and a few minutes after, we were told they didn't have one of the menu items so we had to pick something else.
Then it gets worse. The waiter failed to tell us (it happens) that we are not to make our own salad and the staff will take care of it. I got up to get a salad and was going through the line when someone came out and in a panic told me I wasn't allowed to make that and asked "What all did you touch?" Really? That was extremely rude. She then proceeds to pull the tongs out that I had touched, took them immediately to the kitchen and yelled at someone in the kitchen (loud enough for me to hear), all while I am standing at the salad bar waiting for someone to come out and walk me through it. I told them they should get a sign so that people know what to expect. I get that we are in the middle of a pandemic but don't make me feel (as a guest) that I have done something wrong when I had no idea!
This was the poorest form of service I have experienced in a long time. I will not return for any reason to...
Read moreFood was OK. Pretty standard for the most part. Ordered chicken tenders with fries for two family members, was fine. Burger with onion rings, was fine. Shrimp scampi, serving size was fine but was just slightly warmer than cold (luke at best), was disappointed. Texture and temp are important factors of any seafood dish and luke warm shrimp can become slimy and bad pretty quick so it was my fear that I eat the dish and get a gut ache, which thankfully didn't happen.
Establishment appeared old and slightly dingy. Lacquered walls were spattered with possible food and/or finger stains. From what I remember, carpeted floor was dingy and highly trafficked, pretty common theme for older restaurants. Lighting looked antiquated and didn't do a lot to illuminate during the day. Sat facing the big picture window, at the seats on the opposite wall, farthest from the entrance and my family were silhouettes against the back drop.
Staff were really nice, so bonus and thanks.
I'm not the kind of person to complain for fear of kitchen retaliation no matter where I go and I was raised to accept what I've been given without complaint, so I didn't ask to have anything done to fix it.
I only give 5 stars for better than expected, 4 for expected, and 3 or less for less...
