I am a huge fan of Chipotle as a brand and as a fast food chain. I think that the Chipotle burrito is the best thing that America has accomplished--better than landing a man on the moon or killing Nazis or Lady Gaga.
This is the worst Chipotle I've ever visited, and I've been to many Chipotles across many states.
This particular branch skimps you on ingredients--including rice, which probably doesn't cost them much to make, but more importantly they also skimp you on meat. And Chipotle steak is actually good steak as far s fast food stuff goes.
Also, I've been there multiple times on a break from work when they simply ran out of ingredients and I had to wait while they cooked more. This happens sometimes at a Chipotle, but they weren't prepared for to replace the ingredients when they ran out, so they only started preparing more meat or veggies or rice once the tubs were empty.
Moreover, this is the only Chipotle I've been to where the wrapping of the burritos is sub-par. I've had burritos fall apart on me halfway through eating them, and that is a disaster worse than the Hindenburg or 9/11, since the Chipotle tortilla is a chewy, beautiful part of the Chipotle experience.
Last, they aren't very good at dealing with crowds at this branch. They're not busy very often except for lunch and dinner rushes and a few other odd times, so it's nice to be able to go up and get your burrito right away, but when a line forms they're not prepared to deal with a large volume of people. This is odd, as every Chipotle I've been to has been able to keep a long line moving in busy times.
They're also terrible about making online orders here. One of the great tings about Chipotle's business is that you can place an order online and show up 15-30 minutes later and buy a freshly made burrito without standing in line. This branch completely ignores online orders until you show up, at which point they'll say they're sorry and then poorly make you a sub-par burrito slowly.
One thing I do like about this branch is the customer service. The staff is friendly, makes jokes, and is generally polite and professional. I just wish they'd make me slightly bigger burritos faster and at a better level of preparedness. Because if there was a closer Chipotle within driving distance, I'd be there instead. The ones in Cincinnati that I've been to are much better in terms of quality of product.
EDIT: Since writing the above review I went to this branch again. Whatever teenager working the line made me a tiny burrito with the meat all on one end, so that when I got halfway through my burrito there was no more meat. I'm never going to this...
Read moreI feel that chipotle as a company has been going downhill for years now. I've always enjoyed their food but it's just not worth it anymore.
When I've visited this location in the past, I've consistently seen associates touching their faces, hats, and other touch points and not changing their gloves before touching food. I've also witnessed associates chewing gum over food. Food items are regularly out of stock as well.
It seems like staffing is a constant issue and nobody is properly trained, or at least any bit efficient for that matter. There's no sense of urgency or that any employee even cares about their jobs. During my visit today the store was absolutely filthy. Food and trash was littered all over the dining area floor. There was some less than desirable music playing with some foul language. I understand we're all adults but it wasn't exactly appropriate for an eating establishment. The associate helping me went to the back to get bowls and only came out with maybe three. He then proceeded to go the back again to get tortillas. He asked me what I wanted twice and still proceeded to mess up my order. The rice was either over or undercooked, either way ruining my meal. On top of that, I didn't think skimping on proportions could get worse but they have. I've known for a long time to never order Chipotle online through any means because they barely give you anything regarding meal proportions. Well it looked about the same in store today. I asked for double beans and the second scoop was way smaller than the first. I'd rather be told I'll be charged extra than be given such minuscule amounts. What a joke. I wish it was as simple as blaming the associates for poor job performance or lack of concern but in my experience, the team is only as good as management and its training. Get your house in order.
Edit: 3 months later, a friend asked me to pick up a bowl for them and I should've just walked out. They were out of chicken, fajitas, and more as usual. They skimp on servings very badly. And they had the slowest employee serving the line of customers who were all asking if they had more of xyz. All this while there was a cluster of employees behind the register chit chatting. I wish I could get back all the money I've ever spent at this location and quite honestly all locations. I'll never reccomend this...
Read moreIt’s obvious upon reading reviews over the last year that this specific location has a very obvious training and management problem at the current moment. My experience parallels a lot of other people and unless something is changed soon I worry for this location.
Last week my family and I placed an online order for carry out on the app. It included 4 entrees and 3 kids meals (all cheese quesadillas). Upon arrival (5 minutes after the promise time) my order was not on the online order rack and I had to ask and employee for the order which was somewhere in the back (why have a pickup rack if it’s not going to be utilized?). I went to grab some forks and napkins but as others have mentioned there were non available to grab (I shrugged and planned to rely on silverware at home). After arriving home, non of the orders had any cheese on them. Yes ladies and gentlemen, my kids cheese quesadillas were literally just folded tortillas that were placed on the grill and thrown in the container with no cheese in them and then packaged into the bag. All 4 main entrees were supposed to have cheese but didn’t. No mention of this to me at pickup and no phone call. Upon chatting with their customer service team were we given a few coupons for free kids meals and a free entree.
Move forward to today. I go into the store to try and redeem the coupons and give this location another go since it’s close to our house. It’s a Saturday at 5:30p and the place was dead. 1 family dinning in and no line (which should have been a sign). Right before placing my order a worker made a comment to the one taking my order to tell people they were out of cheese because it could be a “game changer”. Well, I would say so.
As someone who has worked in management and inventory management I believe the issue here lies behind the scenes. Running out of cheese during dinner on a Saturday is likely a lack of planning on someone’s part. Other reviews have mentioned over the last year that this location is constantly out of various ingredients, this is something that has to change if this location wants to survive. Until then I’m driving to...
