McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Washington Township

We've ordered delivery from here twice now since this deli has opened recently. While the food taste okay, each time we've gotten our food the orders have been wrong. I've honestly been excited to try this place out since I saw the "coming soon" sign. I understand it can be overwhelming to open a new store and adjusting to new jobs however, if an establishment runs out of ingredients it is common courtesy to let the customers know instead of making the order with different ingredients than the customer ordered/paid/anticipated for. This can be potentially dangerous if they add an ingredient that a consumer is allergic to and they weren't aware was added in their food. Tonight was the second time this happened out of the two times we have ordered from them. I hope they are just temporarily having difficulty getting into the groove of a new store because the food definitely has potential to be very yummy if made correctly. If I decide to give them a third and final chance I will wait until a future date but I will go in person instead of delivery just to make sure I'm getting what I actually order. I visited the new McAlister’s location today on my only day off for a nice peaceful lunch. The staff was amazing, service was quick, everyone was so polite. HOWEVER!!!!! Within minutes of entering the building I was punched in the face by the most RANCID horrific smell. Like a decaying body. It was so distracting I took my meal to go instead of dining inside like I intended. Although the smell engulfed the entire room, I was able to tell the source was the gentleman in the orange shirt. He was visibly disgusting. Unwashed hair, clothes appeared filthy, stomach and butt crack on full display. When I tell you the smell was so foul I had to talk myself out of vomiting. Like mildew and mold and decaying carcass. It made my eyes water and I felt physically nauseous the entire time I waited for my food. I noticed other employees holding their breath as he passed them. I considered not even eating my food as I was so put off by the aroma. I have smelled some smelly smells but never in my 26 years on this earth have I smelled something...

Me and a friend went here for dinner before a basketball game. I ordered the veggie baked potato. When it came to our table, it looked relatively tasty. The cheese, however, looked incredibly fake. And man was the cheese overkill or what! I could barely cut my potato up. In terms of taste, I’d label it as “below mediocre”. Too many toppings and not a comforting meal. As I write this, my stomach aches. Also, the potato was a whooping $14! Nothing really negative to say about the service. It was good but nowhere near incredible. My friend ordered the four cheese melt and received a ham sandwich so that was definitely off-putting I might give this establishment a second chance in the future. I’m hoping I ordered the wrong meal because it’s a wonderful idea on paper. The veggie sandwich with barbecue chips sounds like a fair bet! I’ll update this review after/if I return with hopefully...
