The burgers were overrated IMO. I got the Rodeo and my companion got the Flamethrower. My burger tasted like an overpriced Carl's Jr burger minus the mayo. Overall it was dry, it had generic BBQ sauce on the bottom bun. The top bun had nothing on it. I had to ask for mayo and more bbq sauce. The portion is decent, and I did appreciate that they give you several options for sides without an additional cost. We tried the tater tots and sweet potato fries. They were good. And they also have a decent selection of beers. The seating is crowded inside, and they sat us right in front of the main entrance hallway where there's very dim lighting and everyone passes through. Our 'waiter' might have been the bartender or bus boy, bc he didn't have the same color shirt as the other guy, and had a very dry attitude, no customer service whatsoever.

This place is all around a 5/5. We went there for lunch after visiting sites of D.C. We went at peak lunch hour and only waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. Which was not bad at all. My boyfriend and I both got the California chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Food was very yummy and the service was great. Only thing that would make it better is a sweet honey dipping sauce for the sweet potato fries. Me personally, I love sweet potato fries with honey. It was nice to see a menu where sides were included with the entree!!! This place is worth a try if you are nearby.

GEM OFF THE BEATEN PATH I came to DC to visit family. Found this place and thought we would give it a try. We were a table of 10. They were very accommodating. Server and staff were quick and kind. Really enjoyed their patio. Lucky for us it was a beautiful day. Everyone ordered something different. All enjoyed what they were served. Delicious. I would recommend any of their burgers, Turkey club, French dip, salad with chicken tenders and their wings. They have a full bar and it was so refreshing to have nice cold adult beverages. Plan to visit again next year ; )

I worked in a Wisconsin bar and restaurant for over a decade. This place is as authentic as you can get. Our server, also the bartender, was just barely polite enough to make me feel at home, in a good way! He wasn't rude but I could tell that waiting tables wasn't exactly his favorite part of the day but when your bar is empty on a Tuesday night, you send the other servers packing and save some labor! I was nice to him and he was nice back. I'm sure we'd get along swell after ten pm, on my side of the pine. My son(13) and I ordered battered cheese curds and wings, with a French Dip to share. Bar kept my drink full, and the food was great. Hit this place up for an evening cocktail (get a brandy old fashioned, he loves (hates) making them!) or a nice reasonably priced meal. If you're lucky, the packers will be playing and you can cheer on the cheeseheads! Thanks Hamilton's for the best dining experience I had during my trip to DC!

Reply to owner: I meant no disrespect either! The server/bartender was perfect. The bar I worked at was so similar to this and I legitimately felt like I was in my element. I got better service than I expected and totally appreciated the experience. I don't think that most people would have viewed his attitude as...

I went here on my lunch break and was sitting outside. No one came to offer a menu or say hello. (I suggest a sign that says "Wait to be seated") A group of people in the same "outside sitting area" and request for a waiter. He finally came and was going to walk right pass me until I stared at him and asked for a menu. While placing my order I asked how long would the wait be (for a turkey club to go) and he said 15 mins... it was great because I had 30 mins left of my lunch (FYI, I've been sitting at the table outside for 20 mins.) So, 30 mins passed... no order. I went into the building and told them to cancel the order. The bartender I spoke with apologized and I left. While walking away, they came out with my order... I refused it!

I do not appreciate being ignored and the sad part, I believe he was either the owner or related to the owner because he introduced himself as" Something (first name I didn't hear) Hamilton as in Hamilton's Bar and Grill" and did not give me his name at all.

Last time visiting there, sad because the first time I visited I received OUTSTANDING customer service from someone, but I don't recall his name, but I KNOW it wasn't the same man and just sat outside and...
