1/12/22 When Jersey Mikes Sub first opened, I guess I should say a few months after they opened, my mom, cousin, and myself were excited to try a new sandwich shop, I hadn't been back there since, and that was a few years ago. We decided it wasn't worth our time dining there between a terrible sandwich and less than par staff. My hubby ate there for the first time last week and said his sandwich was decent in taste, and the staff was friendly; that was the cue I needed to re-try this sub shop. Jersey Mikes isn't super large; I walked in there and thought, "Wow, this place is crowded," but after counting the people, there were only five other people. I didn't notice any messes on tables or a dirty floor; that's always a bonus; I know their opening time is at 10 am, and I was there around the noon hour, so there was plenty of time to see unkempt tables or messy counters, but I didn't see any of that. Erika was the server that took my order; she was friendly, funny, and chatty. She told me my bread choices, white or whole wheat, and the bread sizes. I chose six-inch on whole wheat. According to Jersey Mikes web page, A mini-sub would feed one person, A standard size sub that would feed two people, and a giant-size sub that would feed three people.
Thinking back on that now, I feel it was a little bit of a misrepresentation because the mini looked about 4 inches, and the standard size sandwich looked around 6 inches, and after deciding on a 6-inch tuna, I can't imagine two adults really sharing that; I would think that maybe they would be left a little hungry; for that said, at Subway, there are plenty of times I eat about 5 inches and not the full 6 inches of my sandwich, but I usually have it loaded with a lot of vegetables. Ok, moving on to the sandwich of the hour, which was a 6-inch tuna on wheat bread, she gave me a choice to do it Mike's way, which are certain toppings including oil and vinegar, or create it my way; I chose my way because the vinegar on a tuna sounds atrocious. The toppings I chose were lettuce; I prefer spinach (but I didn't visible see any, so I'm assuming they do not offer that), pickle, onion, and jalapenos. Erika told me about their sub-club and earning points towards free food; all I had to do was enter my phone number; I figured why not, I paid, Erika thanked me, and I left. The first thing I noticed about the sandwich was that the wheat bread was a little more on the dry side; even with the tuna fish (that had mayo) and the juice from the pickle and jalapenos, it was still on the drier side, and the other thing, I feel like the sandwich was a little thin on toppings. I think maybe a little high on price, for what I received, but everything has gone up due to our unfortunate circumstances with on-going Covid. Overall the sandwich was better than my first sandwich with Jersey Mike, not as good as I had hoped, and the employees (at least Erika) will make it easier to return. Die-hard Jersey Mike customers may come after me for my following comment. The tuna fish reminded me of Subway tuna fish, similar in taste and texture and not too bad in flavor.
Jersey Mike's location is in The Trails, 11065 Pacific Crest Pl Suite B109, Silverdale, Washington. Next to Mod Pizza. Other businesses within walking distance are DSW, Marshalls, Sleep Number, Home Goods, and many more. I've said before in another review; there is one large parking lot that everyone uses; however, I have never been in that area and have not found a parking spot.
Everyone, please stay safe and be kind to ALL...
Read moreUPDATE Well, things have changed here drastically. The customer service has deteriorated to abysmal. The guy who took my order was rude and abrupt, interrupted me, constantly said he heard me, and made all 4 subs wrong. The location looked like a pig sty. It was filthy garbage strewn in the counter by the drink machine. The worst part was the sandwiches themselves, these subs were anemic in the amount of meat and toppings, a better sub could of be had at subway, on a #5 4 slices of ham, 3 capicola 3 of the peppered ham and 3 slices of provolone this on a giant, the tuna had a small smear of tuna across it. This, unfortunately, is a continuing trend at this location, and quite honestly will probably be my last. There is another Jersey sub maker much closer to home, and Blimpie may be my new go-to! Whatever you've done with this location or the company as a whole has lost my business!!! Disregard the former review it doesn't hold water anymore, this place stinks like low tide on the Jersey Shore!!! Of the Jersey Mike's subs I've been to in Washington, this is the one that best exemplifies everything that Jersey Mike's is. The best customer service and the best subs. I worked for Jersey Mike's in the Original and then in their corporate training store (when it was on RT. 70) in Brielle for several years, and the folks here in Silverdale do it better than most in Jersey. I look forward to every trip to Silverdale, knowing I'm leaving full and satisfied. ...
Read moreVery unsatisfactory. There were zero customers in the store when I went entered, five employees behind the counter. I stood at the order here area, the employee asked me to wait while she cleaned the area. Once she was done, she asked what I wanted, I gave my order. By this time another patron had entered. Rather than starting my order the other patron was asked what they wanted. They stated they wanted 3 giant subs. They took a minute to give two of the sandwiches, didn’t know what they wanted for the third. At that time the employee said they would start our orders and grabbed multiple pieces of bread and started cutting. The other patron then asked the difference between and giant and another size sub, the employee stopped to answer the question. This was not acceptable customer service, either make the order the first customer and have the second customer wait, or start the first and ask for help from another employee. There were more than enough employees to take care of the situation. I walked out and will not return. I have never been treated this way at other establishments. Very disappointing as I was excited to try a...
