I love reviewing restaurants because there are places that absolutely deserve to be placed on a pedestal!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted only what I can describe as a cheerful, beautiful soul(I'm positive she is like a mother/grandmother to all lol) her energy was amazing and welcoming i honestlywould go back just tosee her!! So, let's get to the food. A-freakingmazing!! I had the spicy teriyaki and the chicken was soooo moist and flavorful, the choice was 2 scoops of rice or rice and salad I (loved that they offered green salad or macaroni salad) let me say the Mac salad was awesome!! My husband had the regular teriyaki and lumpia with green salad and rice and again moist and flavorful!! The prices were excellent, especially considering the portions are gigantic!! We also tried the gyoza, which was perfectly cooked (I dislike receiving mushy, dry, or overcooked gyoza) they were both crispy and soft and melted in your mouth like the chicken. I can go on and on. If I could make a small suggestion, it would be this, I understand that with the economy, prices had to be raised and I'm sure the community loves you guys (I do and this was our first visit) but, considering the portion sizes you gifted us with and the love the spews through your delicious food I was mind blown how cheap it was (look at pics) i ended up taking half of it home and i. A big girl that loves food, lol. I have to be honest. I was hesitant to dine because it was so tucked away, and there was no one in the restaurant. YET!! By the time we left (1 hour), they had multiple to go orders in and out with a smile and about 10 people seated waiting on their little slice of Heaven!! I absolutely with all my heart and tummy suggest this wonderful restaurant to anyone who enjoys amazing food an absolutely loving and comforting atmosphere. Enjoy!! P.S. they have complimentary tea and egg flower soup with your in restaurant order. I'm not a fan of egg flower soup but, I am here it was made perfectly and didn't taste watered down. I warned ya'll I could go on and on! It was fabulous.

Sweet, tangy, savory, and salty. Not only is Joy Teriyaki affordable and friendly, but, their food is absolutely delicious! Tonight I ordered their teriyaki and sweet and sour special for the second time in a row, a rarity for me as my gourmandizing adventures tend to take me down the menu til I've tried everything, or I find something that sticks, tonight it was all I could taste from the second I walked through the door. Don't stop there though, the entire menu is just begging for a taste! Once seated, even the most casual observation at other dishes evokes envy at the riotous rainbow of rich flavors and succulent variety demanding a return for many more meals. The ambiance is chill, laid back and has a cozy sort of family run feel which is perfect for any occasion, be it a little midday nosh with your co-workers, or an intimate date night dinner for two, you really can't go wrong eating here. Oh, I almost forgot! You have absolutely got to try their savory and fresh hot pot binbap too, it's an everyday treat!

Friendly and fast service! I’ve finally found my Asian food spot. I ordered the broccoli chicken with fried rice and my son ordered the chicken teriyaki. The broccoli chicken is the best I have ever had (and I’ve eaten many versions in my lifetime). The dish comes with green pepper, mushrooms, carrots, and broccoli in a brown sauce. The yummiest sauce according to my taste buds. The fried rice is also a new fave. Spring rolls are a must if you like a vegetarian version. They came out hot and crispy. I’m so happy to have found this place. My waist and thighs will hate me as I plan on making frequent visits, but oh well. I’m only here for a couple of years so I plan on enjoying the local restaurants. Try this place. My very picky son gives it 2 thumbs up.

only had good guest service while dining in, under new management and the old. for the new management: -the chicken in the katsu is dry -please consider how much sauce is portioned for the dinner portion of katsu at the very least... in comparison to the salad dressing, the katsu sauce was an extreme disappointment -guest service for takeout is subpar. a conversation should look like “hi how can i help you?” or if you’re busy, a smile would suffice (would prefer to not have blank, occasional stares or other guests being asked for their orders before myself having stood there for several minutes with no help or recognition) -over the phone order was brief and left me doing the customer service end of things. there was no “hi thank you for calling joy teryaki silverdale, how can i help you today” with some enthusiasm. instead, i got “hi thanks for calling joy teryaki silverdale” ....what am i supposed to say to that? especially with an uninviting tone

although i could continue, i would like to express that i would love to see this small business grow from their reviews. as some other reviews i agree with (which were all written some time ago). i wish them the best and may consider coming back to see their growth in some time. thank you for reading and i hope this feedback helps with your...

There was a sign on the door saying that prices had gone up, and that they would have higher quality food. Okay, but then why did most of my stuff come out burnt? The katsu was freed for too long and very tough and dry, and tough to chew. There was no dipping sauce for the tempura, and gyoza sauce just doesn't cut it for tempura. The tempura itself was burnt and looks like something that had been made in the morning and then refried when I ordered it. The salad dressing tasted like just mayonnaise and the gyoza on the bento was also overcooked. The portions are huge, but what's the point of that when the quality is next to nothing? I would be much happier with a smaller portion that was cooked appropriately instead of within an inch of its life. The free egg drop soup is a cute touch, but I think miso soup would be a better match. They were out of several things that I wanted to order, but at least they were nice about letting me know. I think the owner's and other workers' best bet would be to focus on making things that they can be proud of, not pushing out a bunch...
