I have often wanted to come here but in the past, it was always super busy, but tonight I decided to come and try. There were a few people here. I was encouraged.
I ordered the Kalbi beef dinner, which came with steamed rice and kimchi, and miso soup for a starter. I also ordered the tako Sunomono For a salad.
The portions were nice, but I was really disappointed in the food. It wasn't bad, but it was pretty average. The beef was extremely fatty and Had a very soft fat feel in my mouth. It was barely cooked, and at the rare level. it was covered in so much very salty sweet sauce that it was difficult to taste anything but the sauce.
The steamed long grain rice was so overcooked, that it was mushy. It was nice to have a bit of lettuce and tomato and cucumber as a salad, with the cabbage kimchi and pickled daikon and carrot. The kimchi was very strong, as it might have been a little older. Nothing wrong with that, but the kimchi I ate tonight would have been better turned into kimchi soup. The miso soup was pretty standard, but it had a lot of body with the tofu and the seaweed in it. It was good.
The octopus Sunomono was good, and had nice fresh cucumber, a lot of seaweed, and three pieces of octopus. The dressing was a little bit light, and I would have liked to have tasted a little bit more vinegar.
I did take some rice and some of the Kalbi beef Home with me, the box kept opening up because it didn't snap shut properly. The waitress told me that that's the way it was supposed to be. It kept popping open. I felt as if it was too much to trouble that I mentioned that.
Though I didn't eat sushi, I did find that the sushi chef was very friendly and talkative, and I will probably go back sometime to try the sushi. I hope that they use different rice for their sushi rice.
It was expensive, topping over $30 including the tax. I'm not sure that this meal was worth it. I make this at home myself, and would enjoy it more.
I will likely again come one more time to see if the experience at the sushi...
Read moreRead updates below: Really really good sashimi! Thick cut fish that practically melts in your mouth. I love the amount of vinegar they put in the sushi rice as well. Very tasty! Well worth the money. You’d be hard pressed to find a sushi place that gives you so much food. Please add more tocoyaki to the order! Updated: ordered the fried rice and pad thai. The fried rice was mostly tasteless and the pad Thai was not good at all. There was a powdery texture to the noodles and the tofu was like leather. They make sushi good but everything else is a hit or miss. Updated again: 8/12/2025. I don’t know what’s happened to the restaurant but it’s definitely declined since the first time we went there. Initially, I gave it a five star but since then we’ve eaten here a couple times and it progressively has gotten worse. I’m not sure if they changed the chief or what happened but I don’t think I’ll be eating here anymore. This time I ordered the Thai red curry, which was watered down and had rice noodles rather than rice. Many of the carrots had bad spots on them as you can see from the pictures, but they were just throwing in with the rest of the vegetables. The vegetables were very large and they even had tomatoes cut up in it, which is rather strange. Anyway, I definitely do not recommend the...
Read moreI've been to hundreds of sushi restaurants and had some high hopes for this one in Silverdale. My daughter said it had great reviews and I said let's go. The first appearance was below standard, but when I opened the door I saw a beautiful alcohol display to the left but then to the right was another below standard seating area. I was thinking to myself this place has good food don't leave. So we sat down at a very wobble table and hard seats. They have a huge menu and lots of amazing food to choose from. The waitress was very nice and always checking up on us. My daughter asked for the bubble tea stuff and she could only drink about 1/4 of it. She said the more she drank the more it tasted like soap. I guess they washed the machine recently. My sushi was overly big and my rice was not fresh at all it seemed like it was from last night. It was small, smashed together and it was hard to pull them apart. The presentation was there and it looked good. After I was done eating (did not want to eat all of it.) I looked around more and started to realize how dirty and unorganized the place was. Saw boxes and upside-down chairs and other things laying about. Flys and spiders at least in my area. If you're looking for a good sushi spot...
