Lyle's — Restaurant in Washington

Not sure what to say but i'm quite disappointed of this place. Let's starts from the beginning. When my partner and i arrived, we were told by the valet service they could not help us as their valet was only for residents of the hotel. Okay, fine no problem. We got to the host, there was a line of people waiting to be seated and the host/manager (Blonde lady in all black uniform) didn't show up to the host station for a good 5-10 minutes. Everyone in line had a reservation. We finally got seated and from there our waiter was excellent, he gave us recommendations, took our drink and appetizers orders, and gave us time to look over the menu more. Everything was going fine, and it looked like the place was quite busy but eventually our waiter came back and took our entrees orders. Food came out at a reasonable time and everything was going smooth so far. I just preface we were here during dinner time, so keep in mind of the different menus. My partners cavatelli pasta was very very salty and my braised ribs was cooked correctly but had absolutely no flavor. Carrots were definitely rushed because they were not cooked all the way. Whatever food was ok, nothing to die for. Now after our entrees i was ready to order dessert, as i had put in my reservation, the dinner was for a birthday reservation so i wanted to make sure we had dessert and champagne to celebrate but our waiter never came back to our table. We waited 25 minutes for him, but he looked like he was rushing the kitchen and waiting on half of the restaurant, honestly i felt quite bad for him. The manager/host (blonde lady) was walking around but purposely ignoring tables that were not taking videos/photos of the food and service (assuming influencers wannabe) until i had to waved my hands and get her attention. At this point, i nearly walked out of this restaurant because it was unbelievable we had to wait 30 minutes to get someone's attention and was only assisted I tracked down someone to help me. I asked her for our check and i was preceding to explain why and she walked away mid sentence. At this point, i'm quite furious and want to get out of here at this point. She brought our check back and threw it on the table. The unprofessionalism was quite outstanding, honestly. I paid, left the tip to our waiter because he was quite the best and nice, and left the place. I cannot recommend this place to anyone because of the level of unprofessionalism from the higher ups and the disorganization of the staff was staggering. Celebrated a friends birthday here for brunch and really enjoyed our time there. Food was good and drinks were flowing! Here are some of my takeaways:

Environment The restaurant is located in the Lyle hotel. It's not the biggest space but they make sure to get as much bang for the space they have. Theres space for bar seating and for tables. They have a beautiful sky light in the middle of the space that adds to the ambiance. On Saturday for brunch they had a DJ that added to the great vibes and energy. If you have a large party they have a private room in the back. It's a bit isolated from the flow of the restaurant which could be a good or bad thing depending on what vibe you're going for.

Service The service was great. Our server was fast and efficient and made sure we had what we needed which you know is especially important for bottomless mimosas. The hostess was very nice and accommodating and made sure we were settled in.

Food They have a really good bottomless brunch option and they bring out full bottles of champaign with a variety of juice options all at once. They don't shy away like a lot of other places do. The food menu is somewhat limited but looks to have something that everyone will enjoy. Most of the party I was with had the steak and eggs. I had the french toast and the lyle benedict - which is basically a ham benedict made with a cheddar cornbread. The french toast was super delicious. will definitely be back for that. The lyle benedict was tasty although I'm not a big ham fan. I will definitely come back to try the salmon benedict. Overall the food was good and I will be back to try other things off the menu.

I went to Lyles for my friends birthday brunch. We had a larger party of about 8 people. When we arrived we had 7 guest, as one was running late. The hostess refused to seat us "until our entire party arrived." This was distasteful and forced our group of seven to stand by the bar. 10 minutes later when our last guest arrived we were told we could get our table. However, the table wasn't even ready and we still had to wait another 15 minutes before we were seated. Our table was nice, the DJ was great. The couches were comfortable but not cleaned well being that I wiped off old food from earlier. Service of food and drinks was slow and inconsistent. Half of us who got bottomless were served first the rest of our table who ordered from the bar had to wait an additional 10 minutes before they were served their drinks. Our food was brought out one dish at a time with interval arrival between 5-10 minutes. The first person to get their dish had to return it because it was served cold (they did not receive their new meal until almost 30 minutes later). My dish was served last and I had to wait for another 15 minutes and had to inquire about my food to the waiter two times. Service was very unorganized. Our waiter was polite throughout the situation and comped the person's meal that was served very late. Later on someone vomited outside of the bathroom hallway. The put a wet floor sign in front of it. I walked around it to go to the bathroom and when i finished in the bathroom (about 5-10 minutes) the vomit was still there with no one insight to clean it.
