I’m been to Nandos multiple times. I’ve had food delivered from this location before, but Dec 29th was my first time ever eating in the location, and I must say, it was certainly a delight. I bought 8 members of my family with. My grandfather, who is an extremely picky eater, won’t eat ethnic food, and generally does not like much seasoning, cleaned his plate of grilled chicken. He ordered the plainish and said it certainly wasn’t plain, but that he enjoyed the flavors. He did say the fries were a little bit too seasoned for him, but he still ate most of them. I generally order the Medium heat and a half chicken. I always get peri-peri fries, which are quite good, and garlic bread, which is truly the best garlic bread I’ve ever had. I just found out about Nandos in August, and have probably had it at least 7 or 8 times since. And other than one time when my fries were forgotten, I’ve had nothing but good experiences. If you are at union station, you can either walk or take the street tram there. It’s definitely a must do if you are on or around H street. And this location as so much character. The building, the decorations, the friendly and accommodating staff. They pushed a table together for us immediately as we walked in the door. They also sell their sauces too. I got some for Christmas. And they are one of the few places I can get Dole whip. The Pineapple lemonade is also delicious, and though I haven’t had a sangria there before, I’m sure I will at some point, and it will probably been delicious as well. Keep up...
Read moreThe place and decor was very good. Good selection of drinks and beer. We ordered their signature dishes - Rainbow bowl and Peri Peri bowl with chicken thighs. We ordered one with lemon herb flavor and other with medium spice. They switched the flavors on the bowls. Irrespective of that, the bowl was excellent to eat. The chicken was very well marinated and grilled. The kicker is you pick the sauces that you want to add to your food when it gets to your table. We had the lemon, garlic based and spicy sauces. This added some additional kick to the food. We also ordered fries with perinaise (their concoction or mayo and Peri Peri sauce). It was uber good. We have been to Nandoo"s in South Africa and Dubai. So when we saw this in DC area we said we should go here. The big difference was the way they cook with the sauces. Here you add the sauce yourself after the food is cooked vs they add the sauces as they cook. This makes a huge difference the Taste and flavor. Overall a...
Read moreIn 2017 when I got married to @safaduffa she introduced me to @nandosuk and to the whole concept of Peri Peri chicken. Little did I know that this was something amazingly tasty and sorely lacking in the ATL area.
Luckily in the Chicago and DC metro areas Nandos has a presence. Because Kearney was headquartered in Chicago I made frequent trips to nandos in 2018 and 2019 and got to enjoy Peri Peri chicken throughly.
Let's breakdown why it's so good: Consistency: this chicken is juicy and really well cooked, tender everytime and char grilled for a slightly crisp skin Flavor: the staple here are the variety of sauces you can put on your chicken, I personally like hot, that on top of the nicely charred chicken makes for an awesome flavor Sides: Peri Peri "chips" or french fries and the rice at nandos pair excellently with the chicken and sauce I always get both
