I was very disappointed by the poor service. I came here because it was highly recommended by a colleague, but I'm not sure I will return. I came at a very slow time, and was standing solo in line for a good 5 minutes before the server even acknowledged my presence. I had waited patiently because I saw that she was the only one serving customers who were ahead of me. When she finally spoke, she told me that her other colleague standing behind the cashier the whole time was actually the one who should have been helping me. But, she said she would go ahead and help me. So, I guess: (1) I was supposed to have known that the other server who didn't feel like serving me was the one I should have somehow signaled to make my sandwich (not sure how that would work); and (2) she was doing me a favor by taking and making my order. I was totally puzzled by this process and conversation, to the point of me asking her if I was standing in the right line to place my order...she said, I was. So, I guess at TBSP the servers reserve the right to decide who they will serve. That's fine, as long as that's clear up front (maybe TSBP can put up signage to that effect), and then all customers can know how to navigate the selective ordering process. Who knew running out for a late lunch sandwich could be so...
Read moreI came in near close ravenous because I hadn’t gotten to eat all day. I asked the lady working there (who might have been the owner. I’m not sure) which sandwich to get. She said, “Oh! I love the pastrami!” I also love pastrami so I ordered it. It was absolutely delicious. I thanked her for her suggestion and she said yes, it has very high quality meat. It’s true. You can taste the quality of the meat and it makes such a huge difference. It’s lean (my preference) but extremely flavorful and moist. This might be one of the best pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had. Obviously, different than a NY pastrami but so tasty, with quality ingredients that make a difference. It comes with sliced hard boiled eggs and sautéed onions. Loved my experience here. The food, clean atmosphere, and warm and welcoming staff...

My favorite restaurant is back! They moved to this location (919 18th ST NW) three weeks ago. I’m adding photos and info about them. They have corner tables suitable for group lunch —up to 8 people in one table.
Breakfast menu is served from 8:00 to 11:00 AM sharp. Avocado and eggs is deadly. I have it with coffee and a hint of oat milk.
I really like having utensils and napkin generously offered self-service, without having to talk to anyone.
As a regular customer for years, I’m happy to see this family business operating with excellent hygiene and food quality. Employees’ joyous mood tells you how good these people are.
