Read moreWhen visiting DC, I saw this dessert shop and wanted to stop by. When I arrived there was a line outside of people waiting and folks in line were told there was a capacity issue, and that we could not be let in. Yet when people left the restaurant, no additional customers were let in.
They finally told the line of about 20 people that were there in person that they had been overwhelmed with online orders. We were told to wait for 30 minutes. Most of us in line has come from far away so we decided to stick it out.
After over 55 minutes, we were let into the store and ordered. I asked for a banana pudding (which to their credit, was delicious) and a cookie. I get home and there is a snickerdoodle cookie in my box.
Itâs just really disappointing that poor management and the incorrect food order happened. Youâd want a place to thrive and do well. However, prioritizing online orders vs. your in-person paying customers was a miss. In addition, it was cold and windy and there was capacity for the people waiting outside in line. With quick thinking a ticket system could have worked to allow people inside and grant them the opportunity to wait to support their business.
EDIT: I was able to swing by and get the correct cookie. They remembered me and were super friendly. Glad to get this resolved and I hope things get balanced out when they have high...
