Hi we came today for late breakfast to arrive so crowded at front desk area we couldn't hardly even walk in. Due to that we sat outside for 10 minutes for perhaps crowd might slow down. In the car I called the Gurnee location to see how long wait and then called your location the same but with only 5 minutes only decided the drive would take as long. Very impressed when we came back in only 10 minutes your two front desk area had cleared out 90% away. I believe the manager and a new employee learning af front desk were the 2 members. Only stating this is I was impresses by training and being so friendly & especially clearing out the 10 min.
In the past I rarely ate at our usual Dennys at Vernon Hills/mall. We went last week sorry to see closed possibly permanently. See in past 2 weeks ago we went to Denny's Arlington Heights location while my Dad was in hospital 2 blocks from location. We knew in advance we would be eating there but looked at discounts + recalled birthdays in past. I found online Dennys had a program and with less then 1 day was sent a birthday free breakfast during this month.
At the stop Arlington location enjoyed my free breakfast meal but wasn't happy I had to give my cell to staff member who took I believe to manager to do discount and I could understand but I wasn't happy due to covid etc with how many customers each staff encounter, meaning holding my personal cell phone. My discount was sent my email address that I could read on my cell. I'm saying this as I was very impressed your location did not ask for my cell phone, as up front I let the staff member because I had a discount again same way. Instead your wait staff lady said no problem and for me to show at checkout. Again staff at your front seemed manager. (Saying as he was in clothing seemed Mgmt).
Either way kudos to your location had me hold my own cell, which showed Dennys offer, and not only did this staff member had scanned it but before my husband pulled out our our bill your front desk recited what we ordered and was exact perfect our meal but was so kind to us.
Our meal was excellent + warm however I'm sure why but took extremely s l o w for waiting on arriving. But we appreciate with how short staff might be with covid as numerous open tables open while having to wait for being wait and meals being delivered to. We much are happy for restaurant staff members being open to allow us to eat our and realize why slow might be.
Also happy for Denny's corporate for discounts as in 3 weeks now we have gone a couple times now. In before typing this review I saw your location location has military discount. So I then pulled that up online and see veteran can also receive discounts. See I was full time working military but due to medical I had to retire, so able to afford occasionally eat out with coupon discounts with having lost my ability to work anymore due loss of income. So thank you Dennys! Next time perhaps to your location plus my retired military ID/Veteran to receive discount.
Like I said, our new love to Denny's, impressed at Waukegan location to also go online to see your reviews & Gurnee, lost Vernon Hills location permanently, to see which to go stay next. I saw your location seems General Manager write virtually every review write each done! I found being impressed as the other Denny's I have eaten at did not seem to have any write back to reviews. I am a customer that not only eat with coupons but reviews also. We will most likely eat at your location but had 1 complaint, possibly 2. I hate to state but do.
Ok again don't want take down a star but upon receiving my plate it had a small dried up circle purple on my plate edge on top. I then checked my napkin also couldn't take it off. I thought perhaps your dish soap could cause purple? But having arrived it was over 1 hour to receive plate I did not have time for a new meal. I just hoped plate clean except today I've been sick to my stomach 3 times since eating my Dennys meal but rest my family did not get sick just me.

Read moreWe had stopped in on Saturday with a party of 7 for a family lunch. The hostess was very nice and we were sat at a table timely. Our waitress attended us timely and took drink orders but wanting our meals orders right away when we hadn't even really looked at the menu. 3 of us ordered coffee there was no sugar at the table, reached over to a neighboring table, no sugar there either. My husband went and got sugar from the hostess. We had ordered nachos for an appetizer, they were not appealing at all when set on the table. But they were tasty just horrible presentation and looked just thrown together. Small plates that were given for app, 4 out the 7 were dirty. Still no silverware, my husband went up to ask for some from hostess. Apple juice was spilled, had no napkins to clean up, waitress walked by. Husband went and got napkins, wet napkins sat in middle of table from mess entire visit. We waited (with 3 young children) for about 30-40 minutes for our food. One plate was set down was not ours, server then grabbed from our table to bring to correct table. One of the kids meal was missing her bananas that came with french toast, we had to ask for them as well as the grapes we had ordered as add on, My husband was missing his avocado he had ordered to be on his hamburger, asked server for it. Server brought out after he was done with his meal. The bun on the chicken sandwich was falling apart and dry/stale did not finish. Our other part of our table had order 2 skillets, did not receive the toast that was suppose to come with both. The one skillet we did not get until about 10-15 minutes after we all got our dishes also missing the avocado that was ordered for on top of skillet. (She asked for a box to take it to go as we were all done eating and annoyed). The manager did come over after my husband went to complain, apologized she did not know of the issues and did comp us the skillet that came out last, and his burger, only reason I am given a 2 star. After receiving check, we had to have them correct the bill taking off the avocados we did not get and apples as well. Bill was $55 plus tip (after the two meal were taken off) for meals we did not enjoy with all the issues we had that was not taken care of. Will not be returning to...
Read moreI was there on 3/18 and let me tell you as soon as we walked in we were greeted with an amazing attitude from our server Anthony, we haven’t felt that welcomed in a establishment in a long time. We were seated right away, started off with some drinks and he asked if we wanted to start off and try an amazing delicious Italian Sampler which was one of his favorites. We went ahead and ordered it (Which was fantastic) and then proceeded to take our order when it was brought out to us. This kid definitely knows his menu, he was asking if we would like some cheese and onions on our hash browns, which I didn’t even know was a option! He highly recommend trying Fajita blend and cheese in the hash browns, and explained what Fajita blend was cause I didn’t even know what it was. I went ahead and took his word for it and it was actually really good! The food came out nice and hot. Offered refills, the manager DJ was very nice and friendly came and checked up on us a couple times and was visible most of the time. Not like when I use to come in and never once seen any managers. The place was super clean for once, Made my kids laugh. Definitely a good atmosphere, definitely enjoyed my experience for once at this Dennys location and will start...
