Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Waukegan

This past June marked my very 1st visit to this location and only my 2nd visit to a Jersey Mike's in general, Gurnee was the 1st at least 4 years ago.

I guess when it comes to sub sandwiches, I tend to be picky and have to be in the mood for one. The subs here are really good though and I actually came back twice over the next 6 weeks.

In the world of subs, the competition is fierce and JM's is not alone out there. You've got Subway, Potbelly & Jimmy John's just a few seconds away, Firehouse, Penn Station, Quizno's, Cousins, etc.

These subs seem to be of good quality with fresh ingredients, tables are always clean at this location, haven't had an issue with the customer service yet and prices still seem reasonable.

For me to come back repeatedly to a sub shop, they have to have at least one sub that sticks out as far as taste. In 3 visits since this past June I've had the Big Kahuna, the Philly and the Italian; all are great.

I think I've just stumbled onto a taste that's grown on me and just typing this has me planning my next visit. Jersey...

First AND last time i go there. I called it in. 2 SEPARATE orders. X1 and X2. The lady that was taking my order wasn't listening/paying attention. I told her my name and the sub I wanted 3 times. Well once I was done with MY order, I told her I'm placing another one for my friend. I gave the phone to my friend so he can place his. I guess the lady Cant do a simple job because my friend had to repeat himself lots of times. Not only that but also, my friend said the lady that took MY order started laughing and just like that gave the phone to another worker. The new lady took my friends order AND also verified MY order because my friend told her the number of the sub and my name. Well, Once we arrived, the lady at the counter only had my friends. When I askes for mine, she said they didn't have any. She then asked everybody if they have an order for me. Everybody was quiet. Right there and then i saw the girl that answered my call. She was all nervous and didn't know what to say. I just walked out of that place. I went ti panda express instead....

So after trying Jersey Mike's subs I have to say I am very disappointed and will not be coming back. It's not due to the food but the customer service. The customer service was very poor, the workers were very rude. I walked in and this female worker started helling, "One second sir!" Even though I didn't even say anything, I was still looking at the menu. When I did finally order it took them awhile to get my order made. During the wait one of the worker had a sandwich in bag and said, "here you go sir." So I went to grab the sandwich and the woman started yelling saying, "Sir! That is not yours!" And I was like sorry but he literally said this was my sandwich. After I finally ate my sandwich I was disappointed. Taste was Eh, and the price was literal thievery. So I will not be going back to Mike's subs but instead to jimmy John's or even Subway. At least they treat me how a costumer...
