Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Waukegan

My rating is not a reflection of the chain, but of this particular location, specifically, as they never fail to disappoint and ruin your meal/plans. Every time I order from here, it's wrong. Not just a little wrong, but completely wrong. I typically rate well, even if there are some minor improvements that need to be made as this system of 5 stars can really hurt a business but this location is not deserving of such consideration. If it was just that they forgot to add one of the sauces or didn't put as much lettuce as I like, I wouldn't bother with all of this but it's always wrong in the worst ways possible. I always order online and maybe that's part of the problem but if a restaurant is going to offer a service, it should figure out how to be as efficient as possible. The last time I ordered, I had two bowls, and the toppings were all mixed between the two. This meant hot sauce in the bowl for the person who doesn't eat spicy foods and rice in the one with dietary restrictions. Completely wrong in every way. I spoke to the manager, at least they told me it's who I was speaking to, and I didn't yell, I didn't use any profanity, it's a bowl of food, not a life saving organ. I was offered a replacement on my next visit and the 'manager' was courteous but when we went to get it a few days later, the staff was not sure what we were talking about, at all, (no surprise there) and they were rude about it. Not only that, they said they didn't mess up the guacamole part of the orders last time, since both ruined bowls had guac in them, so I would have to pay for that. I would have taken the approach that ruining a customer's meal is more than enough justification to write off $4 worth of avocados but, no, that was not the case. I, being someone who strives to be a reasonable person, did not balk at this and paid for it and that was it. Then, unfortunately, we made the mistake of ordering from this location again because the Gurnee location was unavailable online. What do you know, missing guac in BOTH bowls this time, and very sloppily put together. My son's kids meal which had chicken was just the crumbs at the bottom of the container they scoop it out of. I wish I had anything good to say about this location but the service is bad, the staff putting the bowls together, at least the ones I've had the pleasure of getting food prepared by, are careless and unpleasant, and you're almost guaranteed to have to either order food from somewhere else or make your own meal, defeating the purpose of ordering out, because the staff at this location is awful. I'm sure there are a few people there that aren't, so I apologize to them, but, unfortunately, I cannot write a review of the individual employees. Save yourself the headache and go to the Gurnee location or any others if it's on your way. This fountain square Chipotle will only cause problems for...

Now I try my best to not right bad reviews but this establishment pushed my limits. I want to start off this review by saying that my experience was mostly caused by the people working at this specific chipotle so this review should only be taken into consideration if you’re planing on going here. I was on the road when I was getting hungry so my family decided to stop at chipotle. We ordered take out so that we could get back on the road quicker. But at first impression this place was a mess. Little did I know that it was much MUCH worse. When I walked in my family’s food was not ready so I went to the bathroom. I walk into the first bathroom and there is sewage water EVERYWHERE. This was extremely disturbing so I walked to the second bathroom that was not much better but adequate for the circumstances I was in. I walk out and the foods done so I take it to the car my family opens there food and we realize that my family doesn’t have the right food. All of our chicken and steak was gone.(keep in mind we ordered a quesadilla and tacos with chicken and steak) We walk back inside and I see a man scrubbing the floor with a mop and water and cleaning supplies EVERYWHERE. That’s a food hazard if I have ever seen one. Regardless I make my way to the counter to see a woman standing there I say politely “ hi um my taco didn’t come with steak and the quesadilla didn’t come with chicken” she gives me a chicken and steak container so we walk out. Not only did I have to stuff my chicken into my quesadilla that was literally falling apart but it was night so I couldn’t see AT ALL.. safe to say this was not a good experience I won’t come back...

I’m not one to write reviews, however, I’ve been going to this chipotle regularly since it’s closest to my job and have noticed the service here is appalling. It’s ran by young adults with absolutely no work ethic. I say this because I have come during opening and have had to wait 15-20 minutes because they are still prepping/cleaning and don’t seem phased by the group of people waiting outside the doors. The place is a mess. I tend to dine in and always have to clean and wipe down my tables. The fountain station is sticky and not well kept. Plus the garbages are overflowing with food literally spilling out. Today was the last straw. While I was ordering, my server was completely distracted by one of her coworkers and not paying attention to me at all. I had to repeat my order multiple times and she still didn’t get it right. I asked for extra rice, didn’t get it. I asked for the hot sauce on the side and immediately after I had said that she put it on my bowl. Once I corrected her, she grabbed two hands full of cheese in which the hot sauce was laying on and threw it out…didn’t even add more cheese into my bowl. The portion of guac I got was fairly small. I have definitely ordered guac and gotten WAY more. I know the picture doesn’t do it justice but I found it to be a small portion. I asked for a little bit more and they told me I would have to pay for double guac. I asked nicely again and they insisted it would have to be double in price and did not have good customer service. So I’m done going to this chipotle because I realized I could get the same quality of food but better service at the location in Lake...
