Applebee's Grill + Bar | IHOP — Restaurant in Wausau

Applebee's Is pretty good anywhere you go. I have had a few problems with the wausau one. My husband and I went there for our anniversary and I am allergic to capsaicin in the seeds of hot peppers, when we were ordering I told the waitress this and she rolled her eyes, stared at me and said ok and....I thought this was extremely rude. Having a food allergy I have to ask what is in some items and when I would she would throw attitude back at me and reply with How am I supposed to know, or if you really need me to I guess I can ask the cook. Finally after getting tired of the attitude I settled with a chicken pasta dish, my husband ordered steak I think. We waited for our food for about 20 minutes and this wasn't really a problem for me cause it was kinda busy so I understand that. However the waitress brought the food to the table it was only MY plate....I asked about my husbands food and didn't even get a response except for yet another eye roll. I assumed the eye roll meant to was going to check to see where his food was. NOPE. after waiting another ten minutes I tried to get our waitress attention but was blown off, fed up I got up from the table to find ANYONE else that worked there to ask about my husbands food. About 5 minutes after I sat back down we were greeted by a very friendly manager I forget his name but he was very helpful. He apologized to us for not getting the food and said he would check on it himself. (At this point I haven't touched my food because I didn't want to eat without my husband) a few minutes later he comes back and tells us that the waitress never put in the order! He asked if we would still like the food and we told him no, we wanted to leave. I asked for the check for the drinks and appetizers and my food we had ordered. Then about tenish more minutes later the first waitress came by and dropped the check at the table and walked away. (The manager had taken my pasta off the bill, so that was a relief) we simply put the cash on the table, and even a two dollar tip and walked out. Since then my husband has not wanted to go back.

However with all that being said my sister and I went here for drinks and appetizers one night and had pretty awesome service after about 15 minutes of waiting for the waitress to wipe off the dirty table we were seated at. (Used napkin,food crumbs, and a small dish that looked like it had sauce in it or something.) But after all that we had a waitress who even though they were busy and you could tell everyone was stressed still came to serve us with a smile and a positive attitude! And the food that night was amazing!

All in all the service isn't to hot but most the time the food...

Not good customer service, I tried to order through door dash and it gave me an error code, so I ordered through eat street I got the 2 for $25. it showed on door dash that the salad was an option for a meal choice, but it wasn't on eatstreet, so after I placed my order I ended up calling and asking if they could make the one entree the salad or one of the healthier options, she was so unwilling to change the order, or even try and see what other options there were after I explained that my elderly mother just needs something on the healthier side, there would have been zero price difference and I even offered to pay extra, she said she wouldn't change the order, so I just asked if I could cancel and she said she no, when door dash came to get my food they didn't make my order and sent the driver away, I was so polite and respectful the entire time, and she was just so blatantly rude and not understanding in anyway or willing to help, So disappointed that they couldn't just change the order for the food I paid for when I called before they even processed the order.

When your job is literally customer service based I guess I don't understand how you can be so blatantly short and unwilling to help customers, even as fellow people i just feel like you should treat others better, anyways Thankfully I was fully refunded from eat street for my order and they were very kind, I feel bad that the driver had to...

The last two visits to Applebee’s have made me feel very unwelcome to come to dine here. The very unprofessional and hostile attitude of the bartender (Cassie) towards me is very unsettling. I do not know her and her attitude towards me is completely unwarranted. She sat behind the bar and completely ignored the drink order the server had put in and then in front of my family and all the other customers present, refused to make my drink and even told her manager she wasn’t going to do it; and then proceeded to pretty much through a fit right in the middle of the restaurant. I’m sorry but maybe customer service isn’t your thing. If I had that bad attitude and created such a hostile environment for not only my guests but my coworkers, i would expect to find myself unemployed . To see the manager (at least the guy who seemed to be the manager on the floor) witness this behavior in front of guests and condoning it is appalling. I’m disappointed and am beginning to think my business will be much more appreciated else where. So for that aspect of dining here, I would give 0 stars if I could. However, our server Austin, was awesome and easily deserves five stars. He was doing his best to make us feel welcome and was very friendly and attentive and tried to make the best of the situation and was very professional about it.
