Hate leaving negative reviews, but sometimes it's necessary to effect change. Stopped at Milwaukee Burger Co. in Wausau on our way home from Northern Wisconsin because we've been happy with the chain's food & service in the past, at other locations. Restaurant was about 40% full when we arrived. Within 10 minutes of arriving and at the time we ordered, capacity was down to about 20% full. After waiting 20 minutes for our food, the waitress (Maisyn) came to apologize for the wait. We appreciated the apology and waited some more. After another 10 minutes, she apologized again. This time we were irritated, as we had hoped to stop for a quick bite to eat on our 5 hour drive home. 45 minutes after ordering, our food arrived. My husband's fries were cold. The waitress apologized a 3rd time and said she'd have new fries brought out right away, which she did. My summer strawberry salad was apparently in name only. Literally one strawberry, cut up into 4 thin slices topped my lettuce salad that also had about 8 blueberries and 4 small pieces of pineapple. If I hadn't ordered the chicken to top the salad, it would have been one of the most pathetic salads I've ever been served. The manager came over and took off my husband's chicken sandwich from the bill and gave us a $10 gift certificate "for our troubles" to be used in the future. There was no apology from the manager. The waitress, Maisyn, who was fantastic and the only bright spot in the restaurant, had apologized to us 4 different times...for something that wasn't her fault. Apparently it's beneath the management's dignity to apologize? The gift certificate was a nice gesture, but it definitely won't get used at that location. The only reason this review received 2 stars and not 1, is because Maisyn was was such a great waitress. We left her a $20 tip for a $28 bill (pre discount). Management could take a few lessons...
Read moreOkay, so usually I wouldn’t do a review but I have to. So my boyfriend and I went here Monday after Christmas shopping, I’m not from Wausau and never tried this place and was excited to try something new. So we get seated and Kristin came to the table and asked how we were I replied good thank you, how are you? And she said “ not good I’m here” right then and there I knew this wasn’t going to be a good place to eat. But being hungry we stayed. We ordered some appetizers I got the onion Ring I thought they were so good. My boyfriend got the wings they were not spicy at all so he was disappointed. After we got the appetizers Kristin took out order. I ordered the hangover burger sounded so good and it was. Kristin asked if I wanted bacon in it and I said yes. Not only did I not get the bacon but I got to listen to Kristin complain about the prices on the menu and how they should just automatically put bacon on the burger and then she said “ they’re just money hungry and they just want to make extra money” yes Kristin that why people have businesses to make money not go bankrupt. I’m a manager at a super club and I would fire any of my servers in a second if they said the stuff Kristin did to a customer. We honestly couldn’t wait to put our food in to go boxes and and leave. Then also had to hear her talk to us about how drunk she got one night she had to have her mom come pick her up. It was so many things honestly the worst and most strange dining experience I have ever had in my entire life! Not likely I will ever go back again. People come to eat and enjoy their meal that they have to pay for, this was...
Read moreThis was my first time at a Milwaukee Burger Co. I had such high hopes. But, alas, it was not to be. My granddaughter and I were there just a little before noon. The typical sports bar theme was everywhere. Upon my granddaughter's recommendation, we ordered the mozzarella curds for an appetizer. The curds themselves were very good, but the "marinara" sauce that came with it left a lot to be desired. It tasted like watery tomatoes. No spice, no sauce, not good at all. The draft root beers we ordered were good, but be forewarned they have a high price attached. The burgers we ordered were just okay. Mine was swimming in way too much Burger Sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. However, the sweet potato fries were excellent and worth the extra charge for them. My granddaughter's burger was overdone. Her tater tots were certainly nothing special and not worth the price added on for them.
The waitress we had only came around long enough to get our order, and then we never saw her again. That's not to say she left, but she completely ignored us. She sat at the bar not more than 6 feet away but wouldn't acknowledge my attempts to get her attention. I finally got other wait staff to get us extra napkins and, eventually, our bill.
All total, with tax and tip, we spent $65.00 for lunch!!! I won't make that mistake again, and I can not in good faith recommend this establishment. Save your money and...
