Masa Sushi Grill And Bar — Restaurant in Wausau

This was our first time here, we came from out of town for a getaway weekend in the area and chose to have dinner here tonight, so we made reservations. The restaurant's interior decor and design captured my attention right away, it was visually ambient and upscale. We were greeted by the little young lady working the front desk, and the server came over and took us to our table right away. We ordered the California roll, Chicken Hibachi dinner, Chicken Katsu, and green tea mochi. We got our soup and salad, which were delicious starters. The California roll was perfect. The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy, flavorful, delicious paired with the sweet chili sauce on the side and the sticky white rice. It's one of my favorite dishes and this did not disappoint, they were spot on with how they make it. My partner's chicken hibachi meal was fantastic, he was very satisfied with his meal. The green tea mochi was the last thing that came, and it was light and delicious topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and sprinkles. The perfect dessert after all that we had. Go here if you want to get ripped off and treated bad!! We finished order. One meal for each person and extra volano roll. My sister planned to share her food with her son, so we didn't order extra food for her son. The server even took all the menus from us. While we were waiting for the food we ordered, the server came back and asked us do you like to have noodles or fried rice for kid? my nephew is 2 years old. we thought it was on the house because we had already finished ordering food and just waiting for the food to come!! she didn't mention would you like to order or it is gonna be charged something like that. and she even charged for juice for the little kid in a little cup that we didn't order. and it was almost 4 dollars!! This is ridiculous!! and she(server) didn't even bring kid's spoon or fork. Those were for adults!!! we asked for miso soup refill and she even charged for the miso soup!! and it was almost 4 dollars!! LOL!! I've now had sushi from this restaurant twice. The first time was a good experience and the sushi was very good. The last visit, however, was the polar opposite.

I ordered through Eat Street at around 6:55 and was told the order was ready for pickup at 7:21. When I went inside I was told it would be ready in a few minutes. Fast forward 40 minutes later and I've finally received my food despite being told a few times that it was just minutes away. I am suspicious that my order hasn't even started to be prepared until after I arrived to pick it up.

I could forgive a long wait and being misled about how much time was left if the food was good. It was not, however. The food is too expensive to be so inconsistent (ranging from "very good" to "grocery store sushi") and the service is not great. I ultimately can't recommend...
