I don't like to slam any local businesses for no reason but the purpose of reviews is to tell it like it is, right? I have been to this establishment several times as have I the many other Chinese restaurants in the area. I have never been truly happy here and neither has any of the guests I have ever taken with me. I have lived here many years and watched this business fall down from something spectacular. I have voiced my opinion to the staff on several occasions and I feel it does not really matter to them. In my opinion the building is filthy: carpets, chairs, high chairs, silverware and certainly the bathrooms. Their food used to be worth the price but now I hardly feel that way. Some of the very dishes they used to make, they stopped and I have rarely had a hot meal. Several people have complained of stomach cramps afterwards which I can only imagine is due to high levels of M.S.G. I was also very upset when I went to give a tip to a server there and she told me she could not take my money. I asked 'why' and she told me that the owners keep the tips. A total disgrace as is their other restaurant in Rothschild. I recommend Peking and Chang Garden if you want a stunning experience. I believe Chang Garden is starting a Mongolian BBQ which means you can have a somewhat similar buffet experience with a shiny atmosphere and...
Read moreSo, I stop by for a late lunch, never been there before, at first it seemed cleaner and better food (although selection is limited) then the Chinese buffet I have been used to in Kentucky. Even though the lunch was $6.61. A dollar more, but I could almost give the cook staff a five star. They do good work on a buffet budget.
Now we go over to the service side, oh boy. Is there any way I could give this part of the review a negative two stars? hahaha, absurd to the point of laughability.
Mexican waitresses barely speak the local lingo and would rather chat in Spanish with their Hispanic peers than wait tables. No problem. I will tip in pesos. But then the head Chinese waitress comes over to my table and said they gave me the wrong bill. It's dinner time now and she brought a new bill for $8 something. What???? I admit I was eating slow, but I didn't eat that much and didn't really touch anything on the dinner menu.
Then I saw the most putrid scene in the men's room that made me loose any ability to eat one more speck of rice. Very clever these Chinese, lure you in and then gross you out to the point of no appetite.
Needless to say that was my first...
Read moreNew review (5/20/2021): The food is always dry and gross, now. A lot was out, and I found a hair in the boiled eggs. They only have over baked, dry cookies. They haven't had the good bars, in months.
The waitstaff is barely here. They sit on their phones, instead of checking on the customers. There was staff maintaining the salad bar, but he didn't take out any of the oxidized lettuce. This place used to be friendly and attentive, at least; even as the food declined.
I will no longer be wasting money on food that has no care put into it. Everything in this place is bare minimum effort. I would suggest not using the bathroom, either, since that has been deplorable, every single time I've used it.
Former review (9 months ago): The food was good, for the most part. However, the ice cream has no flavor. The gentleman hosting and waiting the tables was amazingly attentive, despite the ever filling restaurant. Never an empty glass, and the plates never sat more than a few moments. Good prices, and great service; the...
