I rated this place accordingly because unfortunately it's hit or miss. Buy hit or miss I mean it's either going to be okay or it's going to be horrible. That goes for the food mainly because we eat here on the regular. Takeout only. We no longer get it dine in due to the fact they switch staff very regularly. I could possibly decide whether I want to eat there or not, by calling. However that's not possible since you can't call in any longer and have to do the orders online now. It is so much better choice to drive the extra distance to Canton at least that way I know the food will be as you expect from a waffle House like I have enjoyed in numerous states. What's the point in having online ordering if when you arrive to pick up your food after you already wasted 10 minutes driving to pick it up. I have yet to arrive to get my online order and it be ready when I get there. If it was a packed house I would understand, but I'm showing up in Waynesville NC and there's no car in the parking lot. That's typically how we judge if it's going to be good or not how many cars are in the park you want but that don't work any longer either. Save yourself the trouble just drive to Canton or wait and drive all the way to Long shoals. I'm sure it's because of staffing there's usually only one server and one cook It doesn't matter what time we order here. It could be 3:00 in the morning, It could be 9:00 a.m.. I will say typically if I order breakfast it's all right. However this morning changed everything for us. I don't know what the bacon was where they decided to get it from but that is one of the biggest variances anytime I eat at this waffle House. Sometimes it's the best tasting bacon in the world. other times you're not even sure if it's bacon they served you. I mean get it together! I want to drive 3 minutes up the road and get my hot food that I ordered and spent $35 after I gave you a 20% tip and didn't even know what service I was paying for. Not be disappointed when I get home and realize that you burnt my waffle. After I had to wait an additional 10 min for my food since I arrived to pick it up but you didn't hear the notification bell ring because the music is blaring like it's a darn bar. So I couldn't even ask for ketchup. If I had started yelling to relay my needs to then I probably wouldn't have stopped screaming my other frustrations in this place. 🤬🙀🙊. So after 4 years of eating at this waffle house I'm done. I mean after 100 chances to get your stuff together, it's clearly never going to happen. I have never even written a review anywhere about anything. The only reason I left this review is because people should know what's about to happen with their hard earned money. Read moreThis place was an absolute nightmare from the second we walked in the door. My friend and I wanted some delicious all the way hash browns and a typically good waffle House breakfast. When we sat down in this ice box(which I understand it being cold....that's fine I just want to let you all know exactly what I just experienced.) The "waitress" that came to our table had a very poor attitude and was clearly lacking even basic personal hygiene. When we finally got our drinks there were little white pieces floating in my coffee cup AND my friend had already taken a sip of her coke when she saw a chunk of something slowly breaking apart in her cup. She spit her coke out... Then I have never been so appauled at someone's behavior taking my order she acted completely careless, rude and as short as possible. I wish I could lump it up to maybe she was having a bad day but....... Anyways the rest of the staff also appeared very "dirty" I saw the cooks multiple times wipe their hands on their clothes and reach into the freezer. It was absolutely disgusting to watch the preparation of what they called a "breakfast".... The drinks should have been our first sign. We never received our waffle, when she finally brought my biscuit and gravy it was a rock hard biscuit with a very thick barely warm blob of "gravy" smeared acrossed it. My "all the way hash browns" we're barely cooked and cold in the middle. The few mushrooms and tomatoes that were actually in my hash browns looked flimsy. My friends all the way hash browns didn't even have cheese on it. While we sat there in disgust moving our food around our plates the server walked by and says,"I'll add up your tutick and be back." My response was there is absolutely no way I can pay for this meal..... We left in disgust and called the health department...which I will have to call back on Monday . Read moreI'm not a local so we weren't sure if we seated ourselves or not though when we walked in there were no tables available. 3 tables had customers the other tables were dirty. We tried asking employees if we seat ourselves and how long the wait would be. they did not respond, though they were standing right in front of us. Didn't even look up to acknowledge us. After 10 minutes of waiting (because there was nowhere else open to eat at) one finally said we'll clean off the table in the back you can sit there. Waitress came over and stood there without speaking waiting for us to order food. Didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink, until after she walked away once we ordered food. Food came out about 10 minutes later though they didn't bring a waffle I ordered. I had to sit there and try to get their attention for 5 minutes to ask about my waffle. They intentionally disregarded the fact I was trying to get their attention. Then when someone was cleaning table behind us is when we got to ask about waffle, they said it'll be done soon. Everyone else got done eating by the time my waffle was at the table. When we went to pay they said it was super busy before we got there. Went to pay with cash and they said they didn't have enough money to break a $100. So if it was super busy then wouldn't you think they'd have enough change to break a $100 for a $35 bill?
