Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Waynesville

First, I have over 30 years in the food service industry, and I'm also a former Food Service/Health Inspector. I took my elderly mother to the Zaxby's in Waynesville, NC after returning from a medical appointment in Asheville. She was hungry and always enjoyed Zaxby's elsewhere, but not this time..

Jared was a polite, friendly, helpful front-of-the-house cashier. My food was mediocre at best, considering the price. I had the chicken tender sandwich and the tenders looked like they'd been fried in very old or non-filtered oil.

My mother's meal was horrendous. She had a Teriyaki Zalad. It was drenched in sauce to the point of sogginess. The "egg-roll" was so dark as to be nearly black. I asked Jared if they could replace it, and the replacement was just as bad.

I reached out to the GM, Michael and he promised to send my mother gift certificates that she could use at any Zaxby's. That was two weeks ago. (Today is April 30th, 2025).

At this point I'm going to share this horrible experience with everyone. I intend to contact the district manager, and I also intend on reaching out to Zaxby's corporate offices. I have over two million followers between X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, so I'm going to make sure that as many people as possible are aware of this...

Wayneville Zaxby's has come a very long way. We have more team members than we have had in the last 6 months although half of our zamliy are brand new and in training they are all doing amazing we only aim to give all of our guests the best dinning and drive thru experience we can. We all enjoy each and every guest we are blessed to come in contact with. With mostly a entire new staff some with fast food restaurant experience and some who have never had the opportunity to experience the fast paced and sometimes high volume dinning or drive thru we are proud to say that practice DOES make perfect . I would personally like to say that we take an extreme amount of pride in being able to have an impact on each and every guest each and every single day. We will continue making these positive impacts on our guest d as well as strive to enrich lives one pi a time. We owe a huge thank you to our WAYNESVILLE and local residents for loving chicken,wings OH and let's not forget the best and hottest menu item OUR CHICKEN PHILLY FRIED OR GRILLED... COME GET YOURS I PROMISE YOU IT WILL ENHANCE YOU LIFE . ONE PHILLY AT A TIME...... ,#LUV...

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I grew up in Haywood and I have never seen Zaxbys service this bad. Every time I come the drive thru wait is 30 min or more. Tonight I sat in the drive through for a total of 48 minutes. All I ordered was Big Zac snack, traditional wings and a side of fries. I pull up to the window to pay and after I have paid the lady tells me that it’s gonna be an extra 10 min because they didn’t have any wings ready. I pull up to the next window to wait on my food and it was a good 15 min wait for the food. The rest of the 33 min I was there I was just sitting in line. I will NOT be recommending this Zaxbys to anyone and I will not be returning. All I got from the employees were “sorry for the wait”. No drive thru should take 48 min!! I could have been through the local McDonalds 3x in the time I was at Zaxbys and all the locals should know how slow the...
