I worked at this location for about 2 months, and it was the worst job I’ve ever had. When I started, I was supposed to receive 8 hours of paid training videos that the general manager, Robert Bridges, would not let me watch. Instead, he placed me alone on a station & sent me home when I couldn’t do it. He refused to give me any training & sent me home every night I came in for the first week of my employment. When I had finally worked a full shift, we had 4 staff members including myself, there should be 8-10. In my second week, several staff members, including me, got food poisoning because the GM was serving 2 week old expired meat to his customers & staff. When his staff caught it, he had served at least 100 tainted patties to customers & staff. His response? “Cook it, chop it up, and put it in the chili.” All upper management had to say about the incident was “I’ll look into it” - which of course no one ever did. The store is never stocked on product because the GM is not competent enough to fulfill truck orders. After several truck orders having way less product than we needed on them, the GM finally came into the store & counted inventory. He was supposed to have done it over a week prior while working, but chose to come in at 6:30pm (dinner rush) on a day he had off, & he brought 5 of his 12 young children with him. The managers were pulled away from their jobs, while the store was actively open & serving customers, to come babysit his toddlers while he counted inventory. These are 3 & 4 year old children running around in the back of a restaurant with hot bacon pans, ovens, fryers, grills, etc. After he placed this truck order, he refused to fill out anymore, so the restaurant gets repeated “ghost orders” for every truck. This means the freezer is full to the brim with fries & nuggets that will expire before getting the chance to be sold, while the store is operating without any large cups/straws/medium fry containers etc. He regularly leaves work early because he “can’t find a babysitter” etc, and he absolutely refuses communication if he isn’t at the store. He manages the store through cameras & communication with his employees through one specific manager, a manager that gets 25+ hours of overtime weekly because he takes advantage of her every time he doesn’t want to come in or wants to leave early. He overworks all of the minors he has employed, including several 17 year olds making 10+ hours of overtime every week, because he refuses to hire anyone, because he has to train them. This restaurant is absolutely disgusting under his management. The frosty machines should be disassembled & cleaned every night, but the first time I did, the O-rings inside of the machine were covered in rotten milk from where they hadn’t been taken apart in so long. The fryer pads go up to 60+ hours without being changed when they should be changed every 12 to produce a quality product. The dishes are pushed through a poor dishwasher & usually put on the drying racks with food remains still in them to be used the next day - & they never get cleaned again, they just serve the next day's product in the dirty dishes. He started accusing his entire night shift of “stealing product & money” & told us that we couldn’t eat at work until he figured out where the product was going. The “missing product & money” was himself fraudulently ringing up a dozen “biggie bag” orders every night as the “employee meals” that he wouldn’t let us have, so the count was always going to be wrong. He also immediately rings up triple burgers for any sandwiches that customers don’t specify as singles or doubles to “boost profits.” (AKA: to get more money out of you before you notice.) Overall, this store will never function properly under Robert Bridges. I would recommend driving the extra 15 minutes to Merrimon if you need Wendy’s, or just picking another place to stop to eat, because a trip to Weaverville Wendys will only leave you with disappointment & disgust, and very possibly food poisoning under this...
Read moreSlow slow slow. Know they are new but sat in drive thru for almost an hour.
Update; recently tried again on 12/10/21. We got in line at 8:45. Line barely moved. They would literally take one order wait about 10 minutes to take the next one.
Online hours said 10:00. By 9:30 I was three cars away still and only maybe 4 cars had been served in that 45 minute time frame.
Lady came over the speaker at 9:35 saying due to labor laws and having to let teenagers go home they were going to have to close early.
This was with a line wrapped around the buildimg.
Partially my fault for choosing to wait in line but this is still unacceptable to close earlier then stated. I think they were deliberately taking orders slow to wait down the clock because this is the second time this has happened to me.
First time after an hour long sit I was the last one served before they pulled the closing early bull at 9:20.
Update again; tried for the final time on 3/19.
They say they offer breakfast but do not, tried to use my points on a breakfast sandwich and was told they don't have the staff to operate breakfast shift..........
Line wrapped around the building again, saw they had curbside ordering so opted to do that.
Waited almost an hour, thought it was just taking a while with the line because I am not kidding when I say in a whole hour they only managed to get 10 cars served.
I finally went in and complained and they said they don't do curbside you have to come in and get it.... nowhere on the sign does it say that. Curbside is usually that, curbside if I had wanted to go in and order I would have.
Tried to give me a drink that had mixed ice and a frosty that was straight liquid. When I asked for remakes (I could have the cold food was just going to warm it up at home) huffed and puffed and acted like making a frosty was the end of the world. Insisted o still take the melted one as well....I left it on the counter, server yelling at me that I had to take it as I was walking out. Like they couldn't take two steps and...
Read moreI am angry and disappointed. I have been a customer almost since they opened. I rarely had a complaint and would just shrug things off as mistakes were extremely rare. The last few months and in particular the last few weeks, 100% of my orders were wrong. I just was not going to accept the order this time. Usually I find out when a few miles down the road, but tonight I checked my order at the window. Of course it was wrong. I order one of two sandwiches religiously. Dave’s double and the #7 double. Period. I always say no Mayo. Always. The last 5-6 had Mayo. Tonight I order #7 double no Mayo. I got a single switch Mayo. I promptly returned everything. The young man at the window lied to the manager and said I ordered a single. I countered that immediately. Last Sunday I ordered a Dave’s double no Mayo. The young girl said they don’t put Mayo on those at all. Down the road, I had a single with barbecue sauce and bacon. It was disgusting. Before that 3 orders all handled by the same young girl and whoever was in the back came out with Mayo. I ordered one of the same two as always and Dave’s double had Mayo every time. I don’t mind scraping it off once. Every time? I speak clearly. They also repeat it back, except for tonight. I gave also been served two pretzel bun burgers with deep fried crumbs. Another disgusting sandwich. One night a male manager took my order and the guy working the counter said pretzel burger? The manager just said no. He seems nice and I like the dark haired woman manager from tonight. You have a gang stalker problem. Our town and region is saturated with gang stalkers who think the targets are terrorists. They are usually innocent women, older and disabled. Anything to make a second income during working the primary job, like Wendy’s. I won’t be back. This is more than harassment and far from innocent. It is an insidious crime 24/7 for the victim. It is a crime. I had hoped this would be the one place I could get a break from cooking...
