Hands down the best buffet I've been to. Everything is very clean, and the food tastes very fresh. Staff comes by to pick up dirty plates, but for the most part they leave you be, which is an introvert's dream. Walk in, put on gloves, grab a plate, dish yourself, eat, repeat if you're still hungry. Everyone is super nice at checkout, they even had little mini go cups of coffee at checkout one time. Which brings me to the next point, it's a little different every time you go in, which I think helps them keep the food so fresh. Sometimes they have some things, sometimes they don't, certain things are staples and they always have them but they will be just a little bit different, one time the semolina coconut cakes were sprinkled with more coconut, another time they were sprinkled with pistachios. One time we came in they had curry chicken that was really yummy, the next time they didn't so I had some kabob chicken which was also quite good. My personal favorites are the veggie grape leaves, the tabouli and fatoush salads, the cucumber minto yogurt dips, the falafel is AMAZING, the mixed grilled vegetables, the pita bread, and all the meat dishes are good too, but the veggies are a staple for me. The rose water sends me to another dimension, it tastes like a flower garden, I live for it. The Namoura is my all time favorite dessert, super delish, but the baklava and the rice pudding are also super good. Because it's different every time, some days the rice pudding will be better than others, or some days the rose water is particularly rosey. But one thing you can count on is the food is always good. Suffice to say, I highly recommend this place if you want some really yummy and healthy...
Read moreHaving been to multiple locations of this chain in the past, I expected this to be a pretty good experience. I would say somethings were as expected and some things disappointed and surprised me.
I went here on a Sunday afternoon. Price was $20 dollars for the buffet which includes the drink selection. Rules are as usual, eat first pay later. They required to put on gloves for every trip to the buffet. A bit of theater, as some forgot (including me!) and started grabbing food. None of the staff seem to notice.
Premises were clean although there is a lack of lighting. It was dim inside.
A couple of observations and thoughts for you to read:
They had a artichoke salad that had plenty of them placed on leafy greens. Really liked it.
Garlic sauce had way too much mayonnaise; it was on the verge of being runny. I liked it when it is clumpy and so full of garlic that it burns your mouth.
A could of thoughts for your consideration
Baba gonoush had a very nice roasted flavour.
They had plenty of gyro meat that was ready to take. Usually you have to ask for it.
Beef patties were disappointing. They were more like sausages than the ones I had previously. There was no parsley and the beef flavour was lacking.
Chicken dishes were good as always.
Lamb shanks, served only on weekends, are restricted to one per person.
Tabouli had no lemon in it. I had to add some myself.
Always go for the rose water for your drink for that "authentic" experience.
I was satisfied with the food I got on the buffet, but I did not think the food met up to the quality I am used to. Will go back to the Katy location to see that...
Read moreLocation and/or time of day may have turned my opinion around about Dimassi's. My first experience was the Willowbrook location and needless to say it was just OK, but I was not rushing to return. Fast forward to my second visit in Webster, and I can't wait to do it again. Now this is what I expect from Mediterranean food. Needless to say, my second visit to Webster made all the difference. As I said earlier either location and/or time of day made a difference because the Willowbrook location was for dinner around 8:00 p.m. and the Webster location was for lunch around 11:30 a.m.. Delicious and fresh, Dimassi, you've won me over. Unfortunately, I took a dessert pic but failed to get others, oops 😬. Service was friendly upon checkout, but other than that, It was self-serve. As for the buffet, there was a huge selection of food for any taste. There were numerous salads, hummus, and various types of meat and veggie options. The pita bread I had was fresh out of the oven, still warm and soft. That was the best pita bread I've had in a long time. The dessert section had many sweet, favorite favorites like rice pudding to baklava. Yes I...
