We had a really bad experience because our waiter, Joe, never actually listened to us regarding what we wanted for our drinks. Instead, he kept pushing their special, a strawberry Tito's lemonade drink. I do not drink, and my fiancée did not want to as he was driving. Despite our attempts to order something else, he continued to push this Tito's drink to the point where we felt really uncomfortable and just agreed by smiling at him and said okay.
Once he took the drink order, I specifically told him I would just take water, just one for him, to which he said, "Okay, okay, for sure, for sure," and rushed away. Then he came back with two of the Tito’s drinks we didn't want. We didn't say anything because we didn't want to be impolite, so we decided to just keep them since there was a deal going on, according to him.
Once again, I asked him for a cup of water, to which he said, "Yeah, for sure, I will be right back." Then, he came back much later, about 20-30 minutes. Before that, he came back again, pushing his lobster dip deal, telling us about the chips involved, which we did not care about because we already knew what we wanted to order. He kept pushing, trying to show us what was in the lobster dip, to which we told him no, we were not interested. He said he had to tell us about these deals because the manager would ask if he had pushed the specials on us. Then he went on to tell us that he’s going to bring out another Tito’s drink for us since my fiancé had finished his, and we assertively told him no but we would just like the water, to which he replied, “I do not want you to think I am not caring for you by not offering a refill,” but the irony of this is that he was still not able to bring my water out, but he was so intent on pushing another Tito’s drink for us.
I think his first concern should be serving people what they want instead of pushing specials they don't want. When he brought the food out, I asked for the water again, to which he said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I was going to bring you the water, but then the food got ready." Finally, after a good 10 minutes of having my food, he brought out the water. I just wanted my water to begin with, but this person was so interested in pushing the special that I never got exactly what I wanted. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
We ended up having to pay $20 for two drinks we never even wanted. When we were trying to understand what the deal he initially talked about was, he never came by to check on us. He came by once asking how the pasta was, then we never saw him again. I saw him walking around the restaurant serving other people and telling them about the same Tito’s drink, even pointing to us saying we got the special deal, but he never came to us to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything else.
Finally, we asked one of the other servers if there was a discount or what the special was with this drink, and they told us there was no real special or discount. It was just a novelty drink they were pushing.
Overall, due to his pushiness and lack of care in his service, we had a horrible experience and will not be returning to this restaurant...
Read moreI am writing this review and hoping this gets to someone who is able to make some changes. My family and I went to the Red Lobster restaurant in Webster, Tx. While the food was great for the most part, the dining experience was dreadful. It took the waiter 10 minutes to come and take our drink order but that was after my mom flagged him down. Then it took me 30 minutes to get my mango margarita because the server forgot to put the order in, the restaurant ran out of oranges for the blue moon beer (only first beer had an orange wedge), we had to flag down our waiter for all basic dining supplies such as napkin; silverware; and crab crackers. I made sure I sipped my drink very slowly so I wouldn't have to deal with ordering a 2nd margarita (which is a shame). Please keep in mind, it took about five minutes to get our silverware because the server had to wrap them. I got the ultimate endless shrimp with the shrimp alfredo and shrimp skewers. By the time server got back to our table with the silverware, I was already using my skewers as chopsticks. The alfredo was not to my liking so when the server came I asked if I can just have one more portion of the shrimp skewers. He gave us the bill and said he'd get me my shrimp skewers. We paid our bill since we had it. I don't know why it took so long but after my father-in-law and I came back from outside (we spent about 25 minutes out there because based on our dining experience we knew this would take awhile) the food wasn't there yet. According to my mom the server had came by and reassured her that the shrimp was almost done. When she asked about my shrimp skewers again because I was outside, he said actually the cook did not make it because they did not know what I ordered. When I came back from outside, I told my mom we are done waiting. My mom insisted we wait five more minutes but I went back outside because I was done. I do understand that servers are humans and can be slow, forget requests, and make other mistakes. But coupled with the fact that the restaurant was not prepared for a Friday dinner service where oranges ran out and silverware had to be wrapped after being requested, I do wonder was my bad experience due to my server's personal qualities, this location's lack of management, or both. Also, I did try to keep it private and use the corporate website to let them know about the bad dining experience but Red Lobster's corporate website displays an error message after...
Read moreWas my daughter's 21st birthday... We were seated and took 10 min to ask us for drinks, which was fine place was packed... When drinks were brought it was 3 waters with melted ice,. We didn't order a water,I ordered a Dr pepper ,and I finished it before the other 2 drinks came out which weren't together, total of about 30 min to get 3 drinks!!!. Well order a app, and was promoted and hot. But the bottom plate was dirty and still had old food on it ... Then we order our meals steak and lobster with mashed potatoes and asparagus, sailor boil and Mariner boil... So steak and lobster came with out the asparagus and was told it be a few mins .. why it even plated if all the food wasn't ready and why is kitchen not communicating.??? Sailor boil soggy shrimp, burnt sausage hard cold potatoes and cold corn... And finally Mariner boil, waiter added sausage when we didn't tell her to and charged me for, no cracker for the snow crab cold corn, cold potatoes. Still have a empty dr pepper!!! Then for daughters bday dessert. Ordered chocolate cake with ice cream... Only got the cake ...... What's sad is me and my wife love this place but after this experience our hearts are starting to lean towards a new direction. The biscuits are still fantastic. So if you going to try a new menu to keep from going under then make sure the kitchen is on board... Any restaurant weather fastfood or Michelin star it all starts in kitchen!!! And last thing not too happy about was the waiter circled the tip amounts... Like I wasn't going to tip .. I left her $30 cash... She did well except the few minor infractions while being so busy... But $200 for cold inadequate food is...
