This place is disappointing, mind you we called ahead of driving 45 min + to eat here. Said they would close at 9. Got to the place and was treated with horrible service right off the bat. We got told more than 3 times before we sat down that they are closing in 30 min. And then again on our way to the table, hell I understand wanting to go home and be with your family on the 4th of July. We came for my sisters birthday, and reminded them that we would be waiting for 2 more of our party. When my dad and his wife came the door was locked and the man who was supposedly "in charge" told them the kitchen was closed, while all this is happening I'm watching another family order food. When I see this I'm outraged. My dad and his wife decided to come sit and felt completely unwelcome. I guess after the staff realized we were here for my sisters birthday they tried to tell him never mind the kitchen is open. Well hell by that time he was mad and didn't want to bother anyone like they made us feel from the get go. So Me being me asked to speak to the manager. While talking to him he was talking over me and didn't let me get a word in and kept trying to explain himself. It's 8:00 why do you have people putting up chairs and mopping and doing closing things while still having 4 plus family's sitting and eating. Everyone around us seemed to understand my frustration. So as I asked for the owner or general managers name he didn't want to give it to me. He started saying a name and didn't want to give a last name. DO NOT GO HERE. My dad and mom were not served and my sisters birthday was ruined. Lastly, when we got into the restaurant we asked them to put our ice cream cake in the freezer they didn't do so, the cake came out melted and going all over the table. CAN YOU SAY WOW. The only lady that was nice was the salsa and chip lady..... I'll be calling every damn day to speak to someone about this poor Costomer service NO STARS ARE...
Read moreI have lived in the Webster, Clear Lake and Friendswood area my whole life and have noticed we have sadly lost all of our delicious Tex-Mex restaurants over time. My wife and I decided to Google some new spots in our area and stumbled upon Eduardo's, boy am glad we did! After reading some different reviews we decided to go and give it a try.
We arrived on a Friday night and found it to be comfortably busy as we were greeted by a waitress who referred to herself as "Purple" her real name is Erika and you must ask for her when you go. Purple is fun and will ensure you have a great time while in that building.
We started with the Don Lalo margarita's (2 will get you right) which were strong and delicious! We ordered a small queso which is actually a good size portion and devoured it along with the equally tasty green and red sauce.
My wife ordered the combo fajitas and was pleasantly surprised by how tender and juicy the beef and chicken was. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and they were probably some of the best shrimp brioche I've ever had in my life.
Other Tex-Mex serves up beans and rice with an entree but Eduardo's is next level delisioso! The rice is moist and not dry like other local spots and the charro beans had the slightest bit of spice that really woke up my tastebuds.
We let Purple know how impressed we were with the restaurant and how we couldn't believe we lived here all our lives and had never been to experience the greatness. Erica thanked us for coming and giving it a try and even brought us some sopapillas on the house for our first visit. Little details like that is what solidified this was our new spot for great Tex-Mex in the Webster area.
Don't miss out on this...
Read moreFor years, Mely's (now Eduardo's) was the number one Mexican restaurant that my wife and I favored. We went about every week. Then we started having trouble, they wouldn't mix plates (e.g. sub beans for rice, little things like that), then the youngest couldn't get served because she went with a group from high school. Then they started raising the prices. I think there was even a time where they started to refuse certain credit cards.
The food was and still is good, but eventually because of the hassle we started going somewhere else. I have a lot of history with Eduardo's (Mely's) and it seems to me they have not changed their attitude. They know best and need no input from the customer.
I am part of a group that meets every Wednesday. Ten to fifteen people. Now, it seems that Eduardo believes everyone comes for music. I play guitar and favor the struggling musician. The guitar player at Eduardo's is pretty good, but then they added a key board. Throw in a couple amps and soon they will be ready to play to a stadium crowd. Besides, we go for the fellowship, not for the music.
They have to stick us right next to the band because that is the largest table in the restaurant. We asked to sit on the patio so we could talk as a group, but apparently it was too much trouble for them to open the patio and go out the door to serve us, Besides why wouldn't we want to listen to the "da.n" band. You can really only talk to the someone immediately next to you.
I know this is a long rant, but I wanted to explain. It is probably because of my history with the management of this restaurant that I have such low tolerance, but I doubt I will make another Wednesday night...
