My family has frequently eaten at Mia's Table at least once every month or so since they opened. We initially ate at the one in Houston and were elated when this restaurant opened in Webster closer to us. The food has been pretty consistent over the years as far as flavor, but I did deduct a point for the food because over time I've noticed that the restaurant is now a bit skimpy on the chicken fried steak and gravy. The last two times we ordered the chicken fried steak, it was about 70% batter, and once we removed all the extra batter, what was left was such a small portion of actual steak. The chicken fried chicken is better, and it doesn't have as much batter on it; so we no longer order the chicken fried steak. We also noticed that the jalapeno gravy used to be added to the mashed potatoes, but over time, the restaurant now charges extra for gravy on the mashed potatoes. We've had two occasions over the years where our order was not made correctly and the restaurant remade the order and gave us vouchers towards our next meal for the inconvenience. One of the most memorable times was when we went to the restaurant and used a voucher about two weeks after having our prior order mix-up. On this occasion, the owner happened to walk in while we were dining in, and he made it his business to stop by everyone's table and check on them. Additionally, he came to our table and brought us warm cookies of our choice free of charge and he thanked us for giving the restaurant another chance. So, in a nutshell, no place is perfect but I'm impressed by the great customer service and that the restaurant takes care of customers and seems to recognize and genuinely appreciate that customers choose to dine here amidst all the choices out there for food. That is not common everywhere. We will continue to come here and we've already referred so many family members and coworkers here over the years. Menu items we like are the chicken fried chicken, bison burger, grilled fish tacos, nachos, queso and chips, mashed potatoes, onion rings, oatmeal cookies, peanut butter cookies, peanut butter shake, strawberry shake, and chicken fried steak (if it's not too heavy...
Read moreI had never been to this place before. We were driving through the area looking for a place with dining available, while having some level of safety measures, because of the pandemic.
I was immediately impressed with the doors to this place, because they all had a hands free foot door-opener. It didn't look like they had closed off any tables, for capacity percentage or anything, but we felt safe because the tables didn't feel too close to each other. I don't know if the table distance was intentional or not, but that was our guess. There were tables in the patio and we preferred those tables.
The food, delicious! We tried the bison burger with fries, the pulled pork sandwich and the kid's cheese burger and nuggets. Everybody loved the food. They were nice size portions, I did feel the Bison burger was a bit pricey for what it was, but it was still really good. It was about $14.00, but it just felt like a simple burger. Maybe I was expecting too much being "Bison".
Just a little bit of criticism, they had free ice cream that an employee was supposed to serve (because of the handling of snow cones and pulling on the lever); but they weren't there all the time, so people would just grab their own ice cream. When they were there, they served the ice cream cones using gloves.
It was the same thing for drinks. The drink fountain had a sign that said that an employee was supposed to get the refills for customers. So, just refills or first time drinks too?... Who knows?... This was confusing, because I was standing there waiting for the soda fountain to be available, because people were using it themselves and there was an employee there, not saying or doing anything except standing in line in front of me, to get a soda for himself. I know because I saw him put on a lid and straw and drink it.
Safety wise, it wasn't perfect, but the food really was tasty. I would go back to try differe t stuff...
Read moreMy first visit here at a little after 5pm and there were not very many people. I was surprised to find the menus up on the wall behind the counter you walk up to and order but thank goodness they had paper menus by the door. The cashiers were very polite and friendly. I had fried fish and shrimp with oinion rings and the lil one had fish and fries. We paid 40$ 😳 were given our glasses and a buzzer. We filled our drinks and sat down. I was a little annoyed to think I had paid that much to go out so I could wait on myself but as soon as the buzzer went off the waiter brought or food. There was a good amount of fish, oinion rings, fries, cole slaw and a slice of texas toast. Everything was hot and delicious. The cole slaw was the best I've ever eaten. Everything was seasoned very well and the waiter and waitresses never let my glass become empty. They check on us many times and ask if we needed a to go container, tarter sauce, cocktail sauce a drink to go or anything else. We were not able to finish all our food so we had a go box but we left room for a complimentary I've cream on our way out. That made our visit complete. That was $40.00 well spent, I only had to get my own drink before I sat down and never had to lift another finger. People started pouring in about 5:45 and it was getting very crowded when we walked out about 6:10pm. The restaurant was very clean, appealing to the eye and the music was a good mixture. The entire staff went above and beyond any of my expectations and so did the food. This is a very good family restaurant with great food. I will definitely be going back. Thank you Mias Table for your outstanding customer service and great food.
