Hands down the best food in the area and it's not even close. Ate here with a small group and every item was a perfect 10/10. Apps were the free Krab tempura (maybe this has a name but we didn't order it, it was complementary), some steamed gyoza, and a California roll. The cali roll was probably the best I've ever had, light and refreshing. The complimentary app was surprisingly delicious. For our entrée, my group ordered beef udon and triple delight, which both looked great. Personally I got the Mongolian triple (beef/chicken/shrmp), which was quite spicy, but fantastic. There were only like 3 shrimp, which was a shame because they were the best protein of the three - fresh tasting and juicy with a good snap. The beef was a close second. Our waitress was great, the service is top notch. She was attentive, friendly, and dealt well with some of my party's special requests. This area is not really known for great food... I'm from out of town, not some local yokel who thinks Ruby Tuesday is fine dining. This restaurant could compete in foodie-centric places like LA or New York or Vegas, and almost seems out of place in this podunk little strip mall. If you live anywhere nearby and don't eat here - you're making a huge mistake.

I’m shocked that this place is still up and running. Worst food I have ever had. When they first opened I was excited to try their sushi. This was years ago. The rice was wet (supposed to be sticky and dry) and all of the rolls were sloppy and fell apart. I’ve had rolls fall apart on me before so thought maybe just a bad day or cook at the time. Went again weeks later, same issue. So, really decided this place doesn’t know what they’re doing. Years go by and my daughter wanted to try it. I went for it again (sadly I don’t know why). The orange chicken had the strangest taste (wasn’t edible), couldn’t even describe it, but nowhere near what orange chicken should taste like. The drunken noodles were only okay because of the spicy beef, but definitely not how drunken noodles usually should taste. When we tried the sushi rolls, literally the same exact issue from years before. No sushi on the face of the earth should have wet loose rice that fall apart. The avocado on top was also wet? Just absolutely terrible meal again. I have low standards for Asian cuisine in this area and this is by far the lowest bar ever. Publix sushi is far superior to this. It’s crazy.

Refreshing seafood spot on the Nature Coast! After a long day of kayaking the Chassahowitzka river, my husband and I were starving and completely desperate for a bite to eat. Watching otters snack on fish all day was making us crave a bite ourselves, so naturally, we found the nearest sushi place on GMaps. By some blessing of the culinary gods, that closest place just happened to be Masa. We were blown away by the freshness, the flavors, the quality. Our order was ready for pickup exactly when the hostess said it would be, and they even threw in a DELICIOUS complimentary appetizer. Even without considering added value of the tasty freebie, this restaurant is far more affordable priced than equivalent restaurants in my area. I definitely plan on coming back next time I am in town!

We have been going here for almost 2 years now, and lately food quality is poor and getting worse. This has been on dine in and takeout orders.

One of my favorites was the Chicken Basil Fried Rice. It use to come with a nice mix of fresh veggies including zucchini and carrots slices (sometimes other nice surprises), chicken, plenty of basil that you could taste & see, and jalapeños that weren't cooked to death. Slowly it has changed to dry chicken (and less), reduced fresh veggies - to the point what I received on my recent order was frozen mixed vegetables, to leaving out the basil of Basil Fried Rice. The last one happened when we were eating in the restaurant in December, when I asked about it they said they were out of basil...

My most recent takeout was Valentine's evening, I know you might say it was a holiday after all. But knowing the issues I ordered Extra Chicken and Extra Basil, which I was charged for the extra chicken - not sure it was there. Imagine my shock when I open it at home and a Rice dish that I paid $13 for had dry chicken, mixed frozen vegetables, I found 6 or 8 tiny basil leaves, and the jalapeños were cooked to death.

Listen, it's great that you want to give your customers a free cooked special chef roll if they spend $X amount - but how about getting back to the basics of give me the quality items I'm paying for and ordered. Completely let down &...

Such an excellent experience at this restaurant last night, I wanted to take the time to share about it to spread the positive word. Within moments of seating, server brought out complimentary mushroom soup and a chef's special sushi roll. The sushi was covered in yum yum and eel sauces. Outstanding. The picture was taken after we ate 3 pieces so the complimentary roll was a very generous appetizer offering by the restaurant and I have had mushroom soup before but this was packed with a powerful yet balanced flavor.

This before I even ordered.

Pad Thai shared as an appetizer was delightful (not on appetizer menu; in noodles menu). Outstanding actually. The appetizer tempura came with different vegetable tempura's with the protein tempura of choice. Went with shrimp. Very nice presentation!

Sweet Mango specialty sushi roll is cooked and was unique and amazing. Came with mango cream cheese with tempura shrimp wrapped in papaya and mango and covered in mango and eel sauces. Green curry was wonderful.

Of course, loved my red dragon mojito. Attentively but not overbearingly served by 3 servers, I never waited or needed for a thing.

This restaurant surpassed my expectations because it offers a total dining experience, which is based on an overall feel.

If in Hernando County by the Weeki Wachee River give Masa a try. Off US19 /...

My boyfriend and I went to Masa on 2/14/23. It was crowded, as expected. When we got seated, it took more than 10 minutes just to get drinks. We ordered sushi and 2 dinners. We never received our appetizer. His meal came out about40 minutes after we ordered. About 10-15 minutes later he received his sushi. It took an additional 30 minutes to get my dinner, which was cold when I got it. I told the waitress and she said she was sorry but they were busy. She asked if I wanted it cooked again, but it would take a while because they were busy. By this time, my boyfriend was about done with his food because I told him to eat while his was hot! I told her I did not want a new plate, just to take it off my bill. Our glasses sat empty for almost 20 minutes. The waitress brought the bill over and I put my card in it. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back and get it. Before I left, I asked to speak to the manager. When I told her what happened she kept saying sorry, that they were busy. I understand that they were busy but that is no excuse for my food being cold. it should have been offered to recook immediately, not that I would have to wait a while for a new plate.

This was the worst experience I have ever had a Masa. Not sure I I will...
