China Wah On — Restaurant in Weeki Wachee

I work in a commercial kitchen as the manager. I am ServSafe certified. I know how food should be properly held. I have ordered from here the last 2 years and always get the same steamed chicken with white rice & broccoli. They have always put the sauce on the side without me asking. I have had mixed feelings about this place as the woman there is just rude. Today, I ordered the same chicken & rice. Once I got home, I noticed they put the sauce on it. I called and asked them if they would remake it as I have food allergies. The woman on the phone was rude as usual. She told me it was my fault for not asking for it on the side. I advised her that it has been made without sauce without me asking for 2 years. She again repeated that this is my fault, but agreed to remake it. I brought the food back. The lady was sitting at the table eating and wouldn’t even look at me. The cook comes up to grabbed the food, opened it to ensure the food was in there, he never said a word to me either. The lady told him to throw the food away, as they should. The cook had gotten sauce on his hand when opening it. He wiped it on him and went back to cook. He never washed his hands, then grabbed the broccoli with his bare hands. While waiting for my food I witnessed multiple other health violations. When the food was finished he handed it me and walked away. Terrible customer service, multiple health violations as well as overpriced. I highly suggest you put this restaurants name and city in a search engine, add health inspection after that. It will bring you to all their previous Health Inspection violations. I’m sure most of you would not eat there after viewing it. I will be contacting the Health Department to advise them of what I have witnessed. I wish I could give this place...

The food was actually very good, considering the conditions of the kitchen and staff. One young man was sitting on the floor in the kitchen, texting. Very sweaty. The cook in the back was very sweaty and kept wiping his face and hair with his hands ...... Then on his apron. Then, touching my food. I saw another employee walk out from the bathroom while fixing his pants. Which tells me he did not wash his hands. The front cashier girl was a little rude. But, I've learned most Chinese places are like that. I don't understand why. I gave her a tip, even though I was just a walk in. No please or thank you. She just turned her back on me and folded her arms. I tried to make some small talk, and ....she ignored me. The food again, was pretty good. And, it was quick. However, the kitchen..... Looked like something out of the movie Saw 3. Really needs a good cleaning. DEEP CLEANING. Parking was also really strange. Felt like I was in line at Universal Studios with all the turns and just the one spot to park. Even for a shopping center. Probably won't go back. Which is too bad. I am always thoroughly pleased with their food every single time I have ever been here. I would bet money that this place is the cleanest and freshest chinese restaurant in all of hernando county. The lobby is clean and you can see the entire kitchen and prep stations which are always immaculate. Everything is always so clean which is a huge plus. The food is absolutely incredible. It is always hot and fresh, made to order with fresh ingredients. Their tempura batter is the best I have ever had, they should really win an award for it. The staff is also very friendly and down to earth. Its family owned and operated. I cant say enough good things about this place. This is definitely a local business that I fully support and think very highly of, and I'm super picky. If you havent tried this place, you need to because you're missing out.
