Ciro's Restaurant — Restaurant in Weslaco

I DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS RESTAURANT!!! Shady shady owners!! Came and ate dinner the other day for my nephews birthday. Atmosphere was good, waiters/waitresses offer decent customer service but you have to be very careful when paying. This restaurant secretly charges you 3.50 extra IN taxes?!. BEWARE when an unsuspecting customer pays if they do not check their ticket before paying. These hidden fees are ridiculous and when we addressed the lady was rude and just stayed on her phone.They charge a fee for using your credit or debit card, then on top of that, they charge you another "tax" for every individual item, for instance, your drink is taxed separately from the total ticket, if you order 4 entrees, each one is taxed separately as well plus you still pay the normal tax for the total of your over all ticket is FREAKING RIDICULOUS!! My wife ordered a shrimp cocktail that was awful, I ordered a carne guesada plate (decent) and my daughter's shared a shrimp with fries plate..we all had drinks for 85.00!!!? What...

On Friday (8/1/ 16) I went for dinner. I placed an order for some fried oysters, when my order arrived, I noticed a hair coming out of one of the fried oysters! I brought it to our waiters (Enrique )attention and he was very apologetic and offered to bring me an other item from the menu and which I did. When I asked for the tab, Enrique had removed the purchase of my original order and stated that he was sorry and that it was the least he could do. Enrique proceeded to take my card for payment. Enrique came back and informed me that the manager did not allow him to deduct my meal. I told him not to concern himself and I would pay what was owed(2nd order ). It's not that I wanted a free meal but I would have liked for management to come over and give his apologies. Where is this persons concern for the clientele that come into this establishment! Very upsetting, won't be going there anymore! There's plenty of more establishments where their food is...

Seemed like a good place based on reviews but just so so for us. The seafood is shrimp or re snapper and most is just listed as " fish". I asked what fish meant and they said bass. I asked what kind of bass - small mouth, large mouth - no idea. I said I hope it isn't "basa" which is a cheap flavorless catfish from Vietnam. Well that is what it was - I should no better by now when I just see the word "fish" on the menu. If you don't like fish because of its taste then this basa is the fish for you - totally bland! It's healthy but tasteless. Prices here are higher than they should be so wasn't busy. Service was just okay - had to keep asking because wait staff didn't seem to care to listen though there was no language issue. Would try other seafood restaurants before coming back. Wife tried some Mexican food and also was much less than impressed. More like a 2-1/2...
