So I went yesterday for lunch to get yesterday asked for a chicken fajita quesadilla and asked if it came with rice and beans and the guy was confused and nodded yes. Then I asked about their churros and decided to get those. So I look at my receipt and the guy told me rice and beans came with the meal and it didn’t, it was extra. So I let that go. So I get home which is close and open the quesadilla and not seasoned well and it’s drenched on one side so I couldn’t eat all of it because it was soggy. Eat a little bit of the rice and beans. Then go to open the churros and wow. The fact that a kitchen would send food out knowing it’s hard it’s crazy to me. So I took my phone out and took a video of me try to cut them to show how hard they were and they had to come frozen or were old… because there is NO WAY they were fresh being that hard.
So I called the restaurant right after about the issue and they said manager is in later. Called back again and wow I’ve never dealt with such poor customer service! I was on the phone probably for like 30 minutes with Leo the manager saying he needed proof and I said I had photos and videos. He said sometimes people take advantage and I’m thinking what does that have to do with me?! So he’s honestly being so weird and unprofessional and I said I’m sick a lot and stopped in because it’s hard for me to cook sometimes so I’ll stop in tomorrow and said I was disabled, this man had the AUDACITY to say so how did you get here?! I said some people with disability can drive and your manners are so bad. I said you’re sitting here arguing with a customer for like 30 minutes over proof I said i literally had.
So I said you know what this could have been so simple but now I’m going to write a review because Leo literally said where are the churros now. I said in the trash because they’re inedible. He literally I KID YOU NO… told me to take them out of the trash and bring them in. I said as someone who works in a restaurant that’s suppose to be sanitary you literally want me to bring trash inside of your restaurant?!
So things changed when he realized he was was being wildly inappropriate and ridiculous and I said I’m writing a review because this is literally so ridiculous. He starts being nice and saying just bring the video and we’ll remake the churros for you.
I just got there he’s trying to be so nice all of of a sudden and I don’t say anything, because don’t be fake now. I got out my phone showed my proof and he said “you don’t have to show me I believe you.”
So yesterday you’re arguing with me to take it out of the trash and made me take a video but today we’re trying to buddy buddy and don’t need proof because you know you messed up.
He goes do you want me to remake the churros for you and I said “absolutely not.” Why would I ever patron a place again or eat from a place that gave me old or frozen churros and is unsanitary asking me to dig food out of a garbage can and bring into a restaurant.
Go to El Caporal where the quality is good, food is good quality, it’s sanitary, beautiful inside and everyone is friendly.
ADDING THE PICTURE THE MANAGER MADE ME TAKE IN MY TRASH, YES MY LITERAL TRASH CAN 🗑️ DON’T be a manager if you’re jaded and going to accuse of everyone trying to take advantage of you, worry about the quality...
Read moreEnjoyed this place! We had a family dinner here, eight of us. We all thought the food was great. Comfortable seating lots of room. Combination of booths and tables. We had an early dinner so it wasnt crowded at all. The staff was friendly and helpful and had smiles on their faces! Everything appeared to be clean, I had no complaints and the atmosphere made it easy to have conversations with the family.
The food. It was very enjoyable. The biggest problem we had was picking something to eat as there were a lot of choices and many things that sounded good. After a difficult decision process, i chose to go with the "Cheese Steak Burrito". I was very happy withy choice. The steak was tasty, cooked well and included grilled onions which really melded well with the cheese sause. The meal came with rice and beans, nothkng fancy, just as you would expect, I finished them. I would definitely eat this again as it tated great and was just the right size.
The meal came with chips and salsa. Salsa was nice and simple. The chips were great for scooping, fresh, and crispy. We polished off a few baskets. Free refills on the chips and salsa.
They have a kids menu with 8 or 9 choices. My four year old got a corn dog and fries. I could ot convince him to get something else. The corn dogs were norhinf special but the fries were excellent. Large portion and very tasty. I ended up eat half of them for him with almost no effort. My daughter got the grilled cheese, again nothing special but came with the same large portion of yummy fries. My Dad and Mom helped her finish them.
If I'm in the area again I won't hesitate going back here to try something else out. The Enchiladas looked good with...
Read moreTwo female waitstaff sat on their phones at a table by the matre'd station and did not notice me despite standing at the station for several minutes until I stepped within 3 feet of their table despite loud door chime when I came in. The restaurant was not busy. The one whe seated me could not communicate in even very basic English about the menu, requiring that she leave to get help twice and a third time I resorted to Google Translate.
The food was fine, but I was brought a glass pino grigio which came unchilled and quite warm. With no waitress in sight, I got my own ice from the bartender after 5 minutes. Once done, I had to wait a long time to pay such that I left cash on the table and left, noting that once again, she was sitting at the same table with the other waitress, both once again on their phone.
Great atmosphere, average high end Mexican food, and poor service especially given the low number of customers at the time--not due to any negative attitude, but more likely due to...
