On a visit to Longwood Gardens we found this chocolate in this gift shop. It's unique flavors (dark chocolate and basil!) piqued our curiosity. It's taste was wonderful, as if we had just picked fresh Italian basil from our garden and somehow magically blended it with a beautiful dark chocolate. It was wonderful. We learned that the chocolate shop itself was not far away, and so made our journey down the road. Enter into chocolate heaven. It was so much like the chocolate shops I had visited in Paris and Brussels.. What a treat to find in Pennsylvania! We love original flavors and this little shop was delightful and the aroma!!!!!! The staff was friendly and helpfully explained each piece of beautiful chocolate and it's flavors, if they were not obvious in their names. The chocolatier, Chris Curtain was masked, informative and friendly. In truth I did not realize whom I was speaking with when I asked for a mask. :) Later, I saw the newspaper article on the wall. So friendly. Such amazing chocolate. We ended up with 16 chocolates, and special bonus - an Eclat chocolate face mask. (The staff were well masked, there was hand sanitizer available and a disposable mask for anyone that may need one!). My favoritest chocolate (they were all amazing) Lemon-Lavender. Second, mint, like the basil- it was as if I had just picked sweet mint from my garden. I've never had mint-chocolate like it. I can't begin to understand how the flavor can be so fresh! We will be back. In the meantime, we'll enjoy the spiced hot chocolate that we...
Read moreIt’s a tradition in my family to get chocolates from this beautiful shop for the holidays, and my most recent visit was absolutely top-tier. I came in about 30 minutes before closing, and the young gentleman working the counter was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He answered all my questions and made some spot-on recommendations.
They even had four different chocolate bars out for tasting, and the green tea and roasted rice chocolate bar was to die for! Just when I thought the experience couldn’t get better, the owner came out and was so warm and friendly. We started talking, and he recommended the elote chocolate—pure mastery! It was rich, decadent, and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted.
I left with way more chocolates than I intended (no regrets), and even grabbed their decadent hot chocolate with a choice of vanilla or raspberry sauce—absolute heaven in a cup.
I’m already planning to go back this week to pick up gifts for my co-workers and friends. How this shop doesn’t have a line out the door and around the corner is beyond me. It’s truly a dynamite spot and an absolute must-visit in West Chester. Bonus points for their partnership with Turk’s Head Wines—you can even get their chocolates there too!...
Read moreA family member got us the 25 piece signature assortment for Christmas. I have never had chocolate of this caliber before. You can taste the quality and attention to detail. Obviously, this is a very special thing to get and not something you'd buy frequently. However, I would absolutely get chocolates from here again.
Of course, some of the chocolates were better than others. The more unusual and/or complex ones are where the quality really shines (such as caramel pear, wine, passionfruit). While the standard chocolates like caramel, vanilla etc. were still good, if you are going to go to a chocolatier like this, the custom flavors are where you are going to appreciate the difference the most. Therefore, I personally wouldn't get the signature assortment again and would pick my own chocolates.
If you are looking for top-tier chocolates with well-crafted flavors, I would definitely recommend going here. However, definitely opt for the more unusual chocolate flavors, as the standard options are less worth it,...
