King's Garden Express — Restaurant in West Chester

Stopped by this spot a few nights ago and I'm so glad my husband and I did. After reading several generic bad reviews I was a little worried but I realized they were just that, generic and baseless.

My husband ordered the beef and broccoli special that came with fried rice and hot and sour soup and an addition side of jalapeño poppers. He said they were full flavor and really enjoyed it.

I ordered garlic shrimp special with fried rice and egg drop soup with additional fried dumplings and crab ragoons. Wow! They were amazing. That garlic shrimp hit every taste bud I had.

The gentleman at the counter was so pleasant. It really was a great time with delicious food. Being from Arizona, we will definitely come back shall we find ourselves back in...

I stopped by here to get a snack and use the bathroom. I got the boneless pork ribs (slices, really). It was juicy and tasty enough, albeit not extraordinary. The 2 sachets of "hot" sauce I picked up weren't even hot, but whatever. The can of soda was $1.35 😳 Global inflation sucks.

The ambiance was OK. Not too busy at that moment, and not much noise from the outside. The seats and tables were not sparkling clean, but clean enough that I wasn't grossed out. I'm a bit of a germophobe so I wiped my seat before sitting. Most of the seats are cushioned, which I really appreciated.

Anyway overall the meal was pretty run of the mill, yet satisfying, so I left satisfied. If I roll by this area again, I'll probably pop in and eat...

So this review is going to be two part. 1st - the food. Food is delicious. They are consistent with flavor. I asked for spicy though and it was not very spicy. The portion size is good. To be completely honest this is an average Chinese place. The other part is the service. We have order from here on 5 occasions, and TWICE they forgot my wife's chow mien. They brought it eventually, but an hour plus after everyone else ate. I mean come on, there should be no issue with online ordering. You can't miss it when it is right there.
