We recently moved back to Chicago from Boulder—not for the skyline, not for the lake, but because we missed good food. And what was our very first stop back? Art’s Drive-In. Because priorities.

Let me tell you: if Big Al, the owner, asked me to fight a raccoon in a back alley just so he could keep the fryer running—I’d be in that alley, barehanded, yelling “For Al!” He’s that kind of guy. Generous, kind, and clearly powered by some divine culinary energy.

We had dinner and it was life-affirming. I got the Italian beef, which honestly might be the best I’ve ever had—and I’ve lived here long enough to know that’s not said lightly. The cheese fries are made with SIX different cheeses. Who does that?? Big Al does.

My partner got the patty melt and basically made a spiritual noise halfway through eating it. It was crispy, cheesy, beefy perfection.

Art’s is officially our favorite spot in Chicago. The food is amazing, the prices are more than fair, and Big Al treats everyone like family—if your family actually liked you and made you delicious food instead of passive-aggressive casseroles.

This place is going to be wildly popular. But selfishly, we kind of hope it stays our little secret gem. Long live Big Al and Art’s Drive In. I’d wash his car. I’d pick him up from O’Hare. This is that level of love.

We’ll be regulars...

This is fast food at another level then you will find at a typical hot dog stand. I was surprised to find out that this restaurant does not use seed oils and that is something I've been trying to cut out of my diet altogether. Fried in fat is the way to go beef tallow is not cheap but it is basically health food. I don't think you can get fat on this food because of the fact that it is excluding seed oil. Isyn, best French fries in town in terms of taste and health. The new trend is going to beef tallow for your health as people are discovering the negative side effects of using seed oils basically they make you fat. if you have not tried fried food fried infried in beef tallow, you have to come here and experience it. I bet this will develop into a following similar to what fast food efficionados loved and haven't experienced since Hot Doug's closed. The Italian beef rivals, perhaps even surpasses, Al's Beef in flavor. You do not have to feel guilty about having fried food here because it's not going to make you fat That's the funny thing people don't know about real fat versus factory fat made from vegetables and seed oils. This ties in well with MAHA. Make America...

After being closed for nearly three years, Arts Drive-In has made a triumphant return, and let me tell you—it was worth the wait! From the moment I walked in, the nostalgic vibe hit me, and it felt like coming home.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Arts Chicken Sandwich. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly crispy, it’s a must-try for anyone who loves a good sandwich. Paired with their delicious sides, it’s a meal that hits all the right notes.

But it doesn’t stop there! The menu is packed with mouthwatering dinners that are sure to satisfy any craving. Each dish is crafted with care, and you can really taste the passion and dedication that goes into every plate.

What truly sets Arts Drive-In apart is their exceptional customer service. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and clearly happy to be back! They go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience, making you feel like a valued part of the Arts family.

In short, Arts Drive-In is back and better than ever! Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, you owe it to yourself to check out their delicious offerings. I can’t wait to return and indulge in more of their fantastic...
