Update 10/12 Disappointing Experience at Hollywood Grill
I was here twice within a week and the service wasn’t much better — our server seemed distracted and did not introduce herself and barely checked on my table. I asked for cheese on my eggs and did not get it. Just felt ignored. I understand restaurants can get busy, but the lack of attention and care was noticeable. The atmosphere used to feel warm and welcoming.
I’ve been here before and had better experiences, I Miss Stacy at night! Now I work during the day. so maybe it was just an off day, but for the price and reputation. Hopefully management takes this feedback seriously and gets things back on track because this place used to be one of my go-to spots in Chicago. ———————————————————————- I was here a couple of weeks ago and both times the host (a young man) made me feel welcome! Sat me down and smiled and said, “Enjoy your dinner and your server will be with you.” Staci who served me two weeks ago introduced herself as my server and recommended the TexMex Chicken Panini - OMG was it delicious! She came back and checked on me frequently with a huge smile! She also asked how I was doing. I was having sort of a bad/busy night…needless to say she made it better. She has a very welcoming demeanor to her. Tonight (10/19) I came in and I was sat with another server. She was ok and right to the point no chit chat which is ok. She even forgot my Pepsi which ok I have two feet I got up and looking for my server. I understand as a serve or bartender some may have bad days. We’re allowed to have them once in a while. Since I couldn’t find her I went to Nancy she apologized for having to get up and getting my drink she was kind enough to insist on bringing it to me. With a big smile she asked if she could get me anything else! I said no thank you. Thank you for being 24 hours again!! I always look forward to coming here! MENU is fantastic and lots...
Read moreMy family and I came in today. The pre service, (hostess and the gentleman that gave us water) was PERFECT. We were there for like 20 minutes, give or take. We only had water and ZERO SERVICE. The waitress assigned to us was a caucasian woman, CAMRON. Keep in mind, the place was not fully busy when we first arrived. We were there for 10 + minutes before a group of 4 or 5 Caucasians walked in. CAMRON walked right past my family and looked at us with a smerk and then proceeded to ensure that the White people had everything they needed, such as food and all the bells and whistles the restaurants had to offer. So my wife was like... "Let's roll." We tried to speak with the manager, but the hostess informed us that she wasn't in yet. The hostess phoned the manager to inform her of what was taking place and how we were blantly ignored by Camron. The hostess and the manager were very apologetic, but we did not have the time to wait for the manager to come in because our children were getting restless because of hunger. Also, a different waitress overheard the situation, and she offered us to sit at a table in her section. We did not want to patron there, so we declined to eat there. Hence, we didn't get a chance to eat in order to rate the food. So the moral of the story is. If you are of a darker hue and decide to go here, please ask for a different section if you are placed...
Read moreThe vast variety of the menu is a reflection of what Chicago offers. The chilaquiles with steak are marvelous, meat is tender, juicy and tasty flavor. Pancakes are fluffy and no too sweet, but not tasteless. The Arnold Palmer was so good! (beats BarMar by Jose Andres, or S.K.Y). The coffee may need some improvements, but it is expected.
The staff is friendly, attentive and looks they have a good Team's work. I really like there was no hostess per se, so you are being seated faster.
The mural/painting, they have on the back, adds character to the place.
The shakes are good, however, they should give you the glass where they prepare them (as ElevenCity does).
Interesting, the check comes with the lowest tip option of 15%. They are no longer 24 hours, but the sign on the corner says so.
Huge windows are cool and booths do not have small tables,
