Place is kind of shoddy as you might see in the pictures and it doesn’t help that the bar staff has some pretty bad attitudes. I went there yesterday with three friends and had to step out side to take a phone call in the cold and wind. So I stood in the vestibule by the front door to keep from freezing. The guy working the door took it upon himself to cop an attitude with me as though I were blocking people from being able to come into the place. I stepped outside of the vestibule and he still continued to have a problem. Not really sure why an establishment would aggressively chase off their patrons when it was barely even busy on St. Patrick’s Day, one of the busiest days of the year.
The bartender/ maybe owner came out as well, and he seemed to be a little more chill about it, possibly realizing that his doorman was in the wrong, but still didn’t bother doing anything about it. So the four of us ended up leaving which meant there were probably only 10 or 12 patrons left in the place.

Read moreI have frequently attended this bar and have always loved the atmosphere. However, the final time I will ever enter this bar, I had the worst experience ever. I have always entered this bar with a full water bottle and the establishment respects me bringing a refillable water bottle, however, this last time, a bouncer felt the need to take my own water bottle, even after I offered to dump the water out, because they could not allow “the size of the jug” I brought in. After multiple attempts to reason with the “bouncer” and after purchasing a beverage, they felt the need to kick me out of the establishment. It is extremely disappointing to enter an establishment you are familiar with, and be treated with such utter disrespect. I am dumbfounded with the staffing choices of uptown pub, and would not recommend stopping in their...
Read moreI very much enjoyed dropping in a few days ago. I had passed by on several occasions, and while I was there, as mentioned in prior reviews, serious precautions were taken due to COVID without losing a genuine sense of welcoming walk-ins; they even had COVID-19 tests administered by what looked to be a nurse. Alex the bartender was very cordial, with a delightful sense of humor, while remaining ever professional. They put 'Jeopardy!' on the TVs, a wonderful experience for an intellectual such as I. And I almost forgot to mention the vintage, authentic concert posters from the Fillmore West and other legendary venues from the late 1960s and early 1970s. I am very much looking forward to returning, as I did not head back to the biergarten on...
