If I could rate this place zero stars I would. My fiancé and I decided to go 20 min out of the way to check out this coffee shop because of how unique the shop and beverages appeared online. Needless to say we were both extremely disappointed while we were there. The service here was terrible Saturday (3/19/22)morning. The barista had a bad attitude when asked any questions in regards to what food items they had or even what was in the specialty drinks offered. Instead of politely saying over here is the list she assumed we should’ve seen the specialty and food menus hidden in the corner of the counter. My fiancé and I had never been here before. When we received our in house orders ( I ordered the sweet beet latte) both of our orders were in to go cups however we never ordered our drinks to go. When she was asked about the items mentioned in the sweet beet latte in reference to the rose petals and glitter listed on the menu she said she didn’t do any designs because she’s bad at it , but she could pour our drinks in a ceramic cup…that she could do. There were no rose petals or glitter in my latte…nothing of what was stated on the menu. Please save your time and money and go someplace where you can get not only what you order from the menu but amazing service. We went to LUDLOW CHARLINGTON’S Friday (3/18/22) afternoon after visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo and the service was impeccable and the drinks were amazing (taste wise and aesthetically). Werewolf...
Read moreThis place is as hipster as it gets. I came in because a friend really wanted to try the glitter latte they saw on a Facebook video. Now I'm all for trends but this place is super in the middle of nowhere and doesn't take cash. Secondly, when we got there the women working didn't know anything about said glitter latte. Can't blame her for that at all, maybe we got the place wrong. We get our drinks and sit down, a chai latte and a matcha one. Nothing wrong with either, mine was just more milk & sugar than anything else. Then we look up the glitter latte to make sure and it is, in fact, this restaurant. I understand that with new trends all the staff may not know about them or be able to keep up but it's not a good business idea to promote a drink and then be unable to make it. The atmosphere was nice and it seemed to be attached to an apartment complex of some sort. The wifi was also free and fast. Not a bad place to study if you live nearby and it is out there. Overall I wouldn't choose this place over any other in Chicago. It just seemed very lackluster and trying to captilize on a trend but...
Read moreGood coffee and fair coffee prices. Free, high-speed WiFi. Don't get the breakfast sammie. It's $9 and it's basically a Thomasville bagel, a scrambled egg, some melted, nondescript cheese and two slices of thin, greasy bacon. I'd pay $4 for it. Maybe $5. Cakepop was spot on and I could have eaten ten.
Also, the staff is unfriendly and honestly a little uncomfortable to be around. I don't need a gigantic smile and hug but taking my order would have been nice instead of looking at me oddly as I stood at the counter. It was actually just such an awkward vibe, like we had all smoked a joint and then got memory erased by that MIB machine then ended up in this big empty space, blinking at each other.
They seemed to be generally annoyed that customers actually come in to order coffee. I feel bad writing this review as I used to work in the service industry, so I get it. Some days may just be annoying. But all three people in the coffee truck/counter were dreary, flat, and irritated. Anyways - great coffee...
