One of the best hidden gems in the neighborhood. Their cold brew is outstanding — smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced without being bitter. I stopped by on a sunny day with my bike, and it was the perfect refreshment. The vibe inside is cozy yet modern, with thoughtful details and plants by the window that give it a welcoming feel. Definitely a spot I’ll come back to when I want quality coffee and a quiet place to relax

This is such a beautiful neighborhood coffee shop to add to our rotation. I had an iced matcha latte, and my husband had an iced mocha. Both were refreshing to enjoy on a hot summer day while on a morning stroll or on the way to a park. We loved the peach galette as well. Highly recommended! The owner, Annie, is so sweet and we can't wait to be back to try other things from the menu.

New coffee shop on Armitage and Damen! They are doing a soft opening (with a drink discount) at the moment. I ordered a hot Americano and it was great - better than my go to at LaColombe. They also have pastries - I ordered the banana bread and it was 🔥. There are a few tables/chairs to enjoy your drinks with a friend or small group. This will probably be one of my go to spots.

Won't be returning!

Want to start by saying Tomokohi was recommended to me by many friends, as I LOVE matcha and have been wanting to see more good matcha places in the city. And the matcha definitely lived up to its expectations!! It was amazing. However, the customer service was absolutely horrible. As I look at the menu, I ask the employee at the register (they have blue hair) what the most popular drink is and followed with saying most popular matcha drink (a very common question, especially since tomokohi is a new place and various syrups can be paired with a regular matcha) and they responded to me with a dry and slow "the regular matcha" like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Then my friend asked about the pastries, wondering what the prices were (only asked bc the prices are NOT on the menu), and the employee responded with "well, which one, they all differ," again with an attitude. And so my friend asked, "well, any of them?" and the employee proceeded to say well they all differ again. Then my friend just ordered the chocolate croissant, and they couldn't even warm it up since there is no toaster or oven or something. But all of that was whatever, we can get over the attitude; however, when my friend and I sat down, I started to hear all three of the employees working laughing very very loud. And I can hear the barista making our matcha say something along the lines of "oh, you can read minds now, ahaha, wow didn't know you can read minds" and all three proceeded to laugh and add on to the joke like it was the funniest thing in the world? and it was so so so audible, i could hear every sentence. Then one of the employees glanced over to us while this "joke" was happening and continued to laugh. As we left, I had said, "thank you, have a good one," to which we got no response. Overall, customer service is very important, and we felt very unwelcomed by all three employees. so to the owner: please find new ones, your place is new, and it's important to leave a good impression of the business. i was so disappointed in what happened, so we will not be returning. rather we'll be sticking to Gather's Tea Bar, where the service is...

Really wanted to love this place and have given it multiple tries but despite it being the closest coffee shop to me, Id rather walk the extra 15 min to get something better and worth the price. There are so many aspects of the experience that could be better. The service is slow (10 min avg wait for a latte with no line at walk in. Also the employees are not personable and don’t offer too much help. The drinks themselves are okay and sometimes bad. Like I get that running a coffee business is tight margins everywhere but the fact that I am dropping $10 on a latte and it is literally warm milk and dry foam split down the middle is sad. There is no craftsmanship in the latte and use of the ingredients. They use metric beans which are great but the taste of it is overpowered by the complete lack of proper steaming. I am not a coffee expert or can say that I would be any better at this but it is clear from my eight visits since open that there wasn’t a lot of deep thought put into the customer experience from the moment they walk in the door to the moment they take their first sip.

Hoping this place improves over the next few months...

Looked great on the outside, very aesthetic. Wasn’t sure what to get and ended up with a cold brew, and another with caramel.

We took one sip and winced, and another to confirm said wince. For $13 + tip was truly the worst coffee I’ve had this year; void of any flavor.

Upon letting the barista know, she took offense and said this what our cold brew tastes like. We left our drinks with absolutely 0 effort from the staff to rectify or offer a replacement beverage which caused us to leave this review. Had they been gracious to accept our dissatisfaction and amend the situation with some ever so precious bean water, I would’ve been really happy with just the effort and gesture regardless of the replacement.

(Please make use of our drinks to and water your scorched plant in the middle...
