Read moreKasia's is a Small ethnic deli on the corner. Her store offers Polish foods. Everything is good and tasty. Kasia's is an off shoot of Ceasar's food store from the 60's where Kasia use to cook for Mr. Ceasars. Ceasars's was located on Damen and Iowa just a half mile from the now Kasia's store. Kasia's is a very small corner store on Chicago avenue and Hoyne. Being Polish myself, and having eaten food from Ceasars, Kasia's, Andy's and many other Polish deli's; they all basically sell the same foods and their taste's are consistent across venues. There is Nothing outstanding about Kasia's except that it is s small cotner store and does get crowded. The store has done a terrific job of marketing pierogis. However, pierogi's are simply just basic stuffed dough with a teaspoon of your choice of fillings; a basic staple of Polish family eats. There's very little difference in home-made and mass produced pierogi's. Because I have been eating Polish foods for 61 years and making and buying at many different kitchens throughout Chicago, I haven't found any reason to give any establishment more than 3 stars. Marketing, hype and word-of-mouth has made this little neighborhood store popular. The only Polish food I would give 4 stars to was my Mother's. I'd give her 5 stars if our kitchen was larger; the same for Kasia's. I don't like standing in lines in small stores. You know? Kinda like the...

The food is good. Basically every menu item is good, and I feel that I've probably tried 75%+ of all sandwiches and ready-food from below the counter. Of course, if you wanted a "great to excellent" Ruben, there are places that are more dedicated to that type of food that are "better," but Kasia's is a strong contender.
The service here is abysmal bordering on comical. If there are 3-4 people in line ahead of you, you will be here for 30 minutes to get a cold-cut turkey sandwich - minimum. On occasion, I walk in and I am the only customer they have, and it still takes 15ish minutes to get me out the door with two deli sandwiches. They are logjammed completely when there are also online orders, as those don't seem to be prepared in advance, so they stop acknowledging the walk-in customers to attend to the already-late online orders.
If you care about your time, realize that they do not - however, they do...
