I'm so glad I found La Flor Michoacana! This new ice cream shop just opened up near my house, and I've been twice already. They had at least 25 different flavors of ice cream plus a nice menu of other treats. The flavors are super fun, unique, and delicious.
The first time I went, I got the rum raisin ice cream, and it was amazing. The flavor was so rich and creamy, and the ice cream was perfectly smooth. I also got a scoop of the Ferrero Rocher ice cream, and that was also delicious. The chocolate was so decadent, and the hazelnuts added a nice crunch.
The second time I went, I tried the Mexican hot chocolate ice cream, the cookie monster ice cream, and the strawberry cheesecake ice cream. The Mexican hot chocolate ice cream was like drinking a cup of hot chocolate, but in ice cream form. It was so rich and chocolaty, and the cinnamon added a nice touch. The cookie monster ice cream was a fun twist on a classic flavor. The Oreos were perfectly blended into the ice cream, and the blue ice cream added a touch of fun. The strawberry cheesecake ice cream was my favorite of the bunch. The cheesecake was so creamy, and the strawberries were fresh and juicy.
In addition to the delicious ice cream, La Flor Michoacana also has a huge candy wall with all sorts of different candies and treats. I love browsing the wall and trying new things. I've already found a few new favorites, like the Mexican popcorn and the mango slices.
The inside of the shop is vibrant with bright colors. The walls are painted a bright pink, and the ceiling is covered in colorful balloons. There are also a few tables and chairs inside, so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream in the shop.
I highly recommend La Flor Michoacana to anyone who loves ice cream. The ice cream is delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. I'm sure I'll be back many times in the future.
Here are some additional things I love about La Flor Michoacana:
The ice cream is made fresh in-house and you can taste the difference compared to other ice cream shops.
They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, including traditional flavors like chocolate and vanilla, as well as more unique flavors like Mexican hot chocolate and cookie monster.
They also have a variety of toppings to choose from, so you can customize your ice cream to your liking.
You can order a cone or cup. They have a wide variety of cup sizes. (I ordered a 16oz cup both times I went)
The prices are VERY reasonable - actually amazing for an ice cream shop this vibrant and nice.
The service is super friendly and efficient. They are not shy about giving out samples if you want one. They want you to find something you truly like.
The atmosphere is fun and inviting.
If you're looking for a delicious and affordable ice cream shop, I highly recommend La Flor Michoacana. You won't be disappointed - this place is an...
Read moreFirst Michoacana I've seen that looks half Michoacana/ half dulcelandia (candyland)
For everyone who's familiar with la Michoacana, you'll get everything you typically can but this location has a few extra different things like rompope gelatina, cazuelas, topo chico preparado etc. Cost about $20 for 1 large agua fresca de fresa, 2 bags of chicharrones, and 1 rompope gelatina cup topped with more rompope! I'd say pricing is pretty standard. They also have lots of traditional dulce from Mexico and papitas from Mexico. Glad there's finally a location in the Northside without having to travel too far.
If you're not familiar with la michoacana, ask to sample their agua frescas! Great place to buy a piñata & candy or small gifts. They sell traditional Mexican mugs etc.
Pictured in my review is the agua fresca of strawberry (creamy), chicharrones- you can get them plain or with lime & salsa Valentina, and rompope gelatina (mexican egg nog jello) -- if you're not familiar with rompope- it does have a smalllll amount of alcohol in it but not enough to make you even buzzed.
Will go again ☺️

Read moreThis is probably our new favorite Michoacana location. Like any michoacana location you’re going to wait a bit for you to get your order in. But as soon as we put in our order it was a less than 5 minute wait…which is not so bad. While you’re waiting you can look and browse at the MANY colorful candies and Mexican plate ware that catches your eye! They have shot cups and coffee mugs at a very good price and candy…so much candy. Now I’m not much of a Mexican candy eater myself, but I’m sure your kids would love it. I even saw a couple on a date there. My daughter ordered a piña colada smoothie (which they do not sell at all locations) and a plate of elote. And she spent less than $15. I’d check it out, especially since it’s the closest one to...
